Ever tried a Gooey Butter Cake from St. Louis, Missouri? SUBSCRIBE! https://bit.ly/2lxej3z

This was the first time I made and had this classic from St. Louis Missouri because who can't resist a cake that has "Gooey" and "Butter" in the title? I knew I couldn't pass it up. I was pretty impressed by the results and the top layer is fantastic! So if you want to make it, the recipe is below as to all my links. Thanks for watching!

Gooey Butter Cake

For the Crust
Cooking spray
1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Filling
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (room temperature)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups confectioners' sugar (and extra for sprinkling on top)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 9"-x-13" baking pan with cooking spray.
Melt butter over medium heat.
In a large mixing bowl, mix cake mix, melted butter, 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla with a spoon. Pat into greased baking pan.
Mix cream cheese, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla with an electric mixer in a large bowl until it is extremely smooth. Slowly beat in confectioner's sugar (I used a rubber spatula to mix incorporate the sugar and then I use the electric mixer) beat until smooth. Pour over cake layer.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle with more powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
