Morning Dew. First Dtube video. Photography.

Early.
Morning Dew.
Translucent. Balanced.
Twelve indigenous duck feathers.
Gathered by the banks of the Roseville Lake.
~Ally.

When you tap on the feather you will be taken to Dtube to watch the video.

The video is very slow and may even seem slightly repetitious. However every feather is unique and has its own beauty.

The vocals are from the early morning calls of Australian Willy Wagetails.

Visually speaking this video is rather s l o w but I do love the magical merging of the feathers ~ Shades of Susan Seddon Boulet.
And if you turn the volume right up the bird calls create the most beautiful spacial echos, almost eerie.
~Ally. Morning Star: 12 Feathers.

Video and Photography: ©Alison Lee Cousland.

Sound: ABC Sound Library.

Dawn's
Morning star.
Moist green grass.
Open and shady avenue:
Carpeted with fine pine needles.
Her heart: A reservoir. Enchanted by the dew.
As light as a feather. At peace. Overflowing with gratitude.

~Ally.

Just a Cockatoo or Kookaburra Feather?

Or a lovely reminder to tread on the earth more gently, to listen more attentively to the sound of the wind and feel her breeze against my skin, to see all the magical colours that nature adorns herself with and to remember to breathe it all in, much more deeply. ~Ally.

The significance of the feathers.

The significance of the feathers and the process of making this simple video was fully described in my Steemit article: Morning Star: 12 Feathers.

While I was working with the images and this piece of writing, the feathers came to represent the parallels between my personal quest for freedom and the story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

'I love the ocean so much.
I just want to walk there. Paint there.
Be [with my love] there. Just for a little while. That's all.'

Very glad I get to read/vote this post as yet (to the nature sounds on your Dtube video) thanks to today's reference to it .

Jonathan Seagull is a recurring theme for those I keep on bumping into here, half way around the world from you: goes to show how deeply connected we can be. Today, I discover more about this story and it's wise counsel, for which my low bow to you.

I shall now continue to cry myself a river to these beautiful words:

He had a way:
Of speaking to her heart.
And he spoke of very simple things:
That it's right for Ally to connect with her 'Muse.'
That freedom is the very nature of her being.
That whatever denies that freedom:
Must be seen and understood:
To be able to step aside.
From its strangling
Hold on her.

These were the words of my 20-year-old self. Three years out of secondary school, working in the Haematology Department of a Pathology Laboratory in Melbourne and going to art school part-time at night.

'I love the ocean so much.
I just want to walk there. Paint there.
Be alone there. Just for a little while. That's all.'

Alone: Only in only one sense, as I would be there with my love of the sea ~ And never actually feel alone or lonely.)

And so that is what I did. I used to virtually live at the beach during the summer holidays. And at the end of that summer, I asked the publican of the Hotel (where the holidaymakers went in the evenings) if I could work there after the holiday season had finished and all the holidaymakers had gone home.

I'd never waitressed or worked behind a bar before ~ But it was an easy learning curve and a fun 'job.' And the best part was that I was able to spend most of my days on the beach ~ Walking ~ Swimming ~ Drawing.

More than anything else, Ally loved to paint.
Spending whole days completely alone.
On the sand. On the rocks.
Drawing the ocean.
And the sky.
~Ally. Adapted from Richard Bach: Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

The solitude of an artist is seldom a lonely place! The context you provide further deepens all the feathers reach in their 12-foldness, for which I thank you heartfeltly.

The solitude of an artist is seldom a lonely place!

So very true Sukhasanasister. I watched a video recently where Laurie Lipton talks about her work and how she became compelled to work in isolation.

Towards the end of the video, she describes how one event in her childhood changed her life forever and how it shaped her creativity. Was incredible to hear her say how grateful she was now for how the effect of that event had been the impetus of her powerful creative drive. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

You never know what will come out of suffering. ~Laurie Lipton.

Hope you'll find the time to watch this amazing video: Seeing both Laurie's drawings and her commentary.

The colour of thought. The connection an introvert can make is astounding. The nobility of this pencil pusher is awe-inspiring.

My dear Ally, what a gift you have given a fellow monk.
I have to share this with @Kimberlylane: can you do this for me, referencing this point of connect?

So pleased you found the video calming George. It was my first video produced with Filmora and I really enjoyed experimenting with all the different ways of being able to fade and merge one feather image with the next.

I love the idea of making videos now of my drawing/s in process. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

The wh-whip like bird calls in this video, give it some of the atmosphere of our open bushland areas. Calls echoing across the landscape. I hope to record my own bird calls now ~ As soon as I find out how to.

I love the idea of creating videos that have a beneficial effect and so it's been particularly encouraging to read your comment. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

It was an absolute pleasure Melinda. I have a few videos in the making, that will also feature feathers. I want to make videos of my drawings and the Magical Wands and the processes as well. It's very slow going but I enjoy doing it. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

I love watching the feathers merge in the video Keith. In our fast-paced world, it can be hard to sit through a video like this. But if we can, it can be a wonderful unwinding experience.

I'll be incorporating merging feathers like these in my drawings now too. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Thanks so much Bruce. I'm so pleased you like the sounds.

I usually sit outside for a while in the morning before starting the day. It's a great time to just breathe in the high-frequency sounds of the birds: This 'sound-bathing' restores our energy and prepares us for our day ahead. Can be very healing @felt.buzz.

My aim at the moment is to record my own natural sounds for use in my videos. Just have to find out what sort of gear I'll need. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
