New Steem And The Giant Elephant In The Room
Greetings Steemians!
Controversial one today. I'm not one for controversy as you know, but I think the time has finally come to join in the fight to improve our blockchain.
I want to shoutout to all the amazing Steemians that are relentlessly working hard every day to make this our dream a reality
It really isn't anything personal. With #newSteem, we have been granted new tools to participate in the improvement of the blockchain by influencing change of behaviour. I myself have made some behavioural changes (hopefully for the better), and I believe certain elephants in our room need to do the same.
Of course it's ultimately up to them whether or not they make that change, but I think as a community there are certain things we will no longer tolerate. That is, if we're interested in the success of Steem.
I'd normally take a back seat and never get involved in these things, but I think said elephants depend on that to keep doing what they're doing - the inaction of the masses. The masses are starting to make moves though and I'm inspired to join the movement.

He's been milking Steem for years whilst giving nothing back to the community. He pretends his posts have value, but he stopped engaging with anyone months ago. I guess he just noticed he got some downvotes.
I had my rewards wiped out by him ages ago, but others helped me get them back. I may not take him on now as there are plenty of others to tackle. You know I was downvoting long before HF21 as I consider it good for Steem to adjust unearned rewards downwards and free them up for others. I could only change them by a few cents anyway.
There is another 'elephant' who may also get taken on in time. The problem is that these people can keep holding their Steem and attack people. I just hope the big accounts will undo some of the damage. Good things are happening.

Yes you've been a proponent of this stuff since as far back as I can remember. I think once we make him see the error of his ways, we'll move on to the next one haha. There are also lesser beasts that are being dealt with by other people. It's like the Avengers Civil War out there. :)
If we hadn't been dealing with it things might be a lot worse. There has to be a disincentive to abuse. This is the crab bucket they talk about in the White Paper. It's finally getting realised properly. Previously the big accounts seemed to not want to miss out on any potential rewards.

New steem is coming up nicely and I'd like to single out @theycallmedan, his massive contribution has been a blessing to steem, steem can't afford not to boom because the work put in by these guys are massive,extra new behaviors are being cultivated really and like you said, I thinking we're getting somewhere better. Awesome content again Ade. And you're right, never been controversies with you lol 😂😂
