A Latin version of a classic holiday carol. Fun and upbeat song sure to wake up the entire household after the kids are put to sleep.

Title: Silent Night, Jazzy Night (version 2)
Year: 2019
Genres: #christmas #holiday #dance #latin #chacha

Discontented with the forever repeating Feliz Navidad as the only contemporary Latin Christmas tune for the holidays, I decided last year I needed to put my musical skills to the test and build my own Latin Christmas song from a classic song that is normally a very different style. Silent Night is a favorite carol among many to sing, because of it's high thrilling notes. Although it is normally a waltz beat (123, 123), I added found that I could keep the original rhythm, and stretch them into a funky Latin beat that fits a 4/4 time signature. The end results makes this familiar tune feel fresh and new, while still preserving the fun parts we enjoy most in this song so we can still sing along with it.

I composed this song last year using Musescore, and decided to redo it using my Korg Gadget on the Nintendo Switch. This new version adds in fun sounds, a percussion and rhythm section, and a funky saxophone solo at the end.

Actually I came up with another version of this song that adds in another sound channel that adds in background saxophone players. It gets a little busy too busy, but I like that it makes the song sound more like a full band is playing. If people like this version of the song, I may repost the other version of this song that has the additional saxophone backgrounds in it.

Please enjoy and let me know what you think.
