Do you hold precious metals?
Do you hold precious metals?
Do you like precious metals? Are you as diversified as you can be in the world we live in today? For thousands of years, societies have deemed items such as gold and silver as store of value. In the case of civil unrest, wars, etc. they are legitimate bartering goods.
My favorite go-to vendor online has been Apmex. Sometimes, I purchase from a local shop. Let me tell you, it's like going through a mafia checkpoint. Those guys let you know they have the firepower to take you out. The upside is that cash payments will be cheaper than ordering online.
Even with the existence of cryptocurrencies, the enthusiasm for these ageless products remain. For one, cash and coins are still usable where internet connection is not available.
Many crypto enthusiasts are confident that the technology will replace all payment methods. I disagree. I view them as another alternative for people to use to facilitate commerce. As physical cash offers anonymity and censorship resistance, crypto is the digital counterpart.
To me, the point of holding assets is to have them generate resources or convert them into resources. In a sense, they are placeholders until I exchange them into things I need to survive or desire.
Without going too much off topic, what type of precious metals do you hold?
If you hold other precious items, please let us know in the polls. That is, if you feel comfortable sharing.
- Gold
- Silver
- Platinum
- Palladium
- I do not hold precious metals
- Other (please specify)

I don't like it as an investment. If you want to diversify your assets a little. Somewhere around 5% of assets sounds appropriate. As soon as it surpasses 10% I will start judging you :)
Good. I'm still within the 5% range. lol
I'm sort of disappointed now. Thought I could be judging you - harshly ;)
Next time you're thinking about hardware, go for liquidity instead:
