So many splinters, so little time! (Splinterlands and SBI Giveaway #10)

Keeping busy in the Splinterlands

According to @steemmonsters, the recently concluded battle season has seen all-time activity highs for the game. From a record-high 35,389 ranked matches played in a day, to the highest number of active users transacting, and even the increasing DEC market cap and transactions volume. The Splinterlands is really keeping its players busy and engaged 24/7.

I'm not surprised. Ever since the launch of DECs, the introduction of tournaments, and the constant release of new features, the Splinterlands has become one of the most rewarding and fun places to spend time in the blockchain.

And it's not all about fighting in ranked matches or tournaments, either. Outside the battles, there's the Splintertalk forum, and Splinterlands discord channel where you could spend time talking about the game. There's Steem-Engine.com, @peakmonsters, and the Splinterlands market where you could buy, sell, and trade your cards and DEC tokens. You could do like I'm doing right now and write about your gameplay, the community, and game updates. And of course, there are off-chain places like the official Telegram and social media pages where you can discuss and promote Splinterlands outside Steem.

There's really something for everyone to enjoy in the Splinterlands.

The Giveaway

Because the Splinterlands tribe is such a giving and generous community, it only makes sense that I add a little giveaway to this poll.

For those who participate, one randomly chosen winner will get the double prize of two (2) SBI Shares and a Common Gold Foil Undead Minotaur.

There is also a 2 STEEM Bounty for insightful and interesting comments. (And I'll make sure to upvote the comments before the bounty payout, this time.)

You can read more about the rules here.

I am doing this game as free to play and so progress very slowly. At the moment, I have been reading a lot of other people's posts to see what they do and get tips and tricks. I'm entering contests for more cards and not really playing right now.

But I am still in!

Soon I will start battling again and writing my own posts to see if people can give me advice about what my best options are to succeed.

I really like this game, but I guess you could say I am taking a rest now :)

HODling dpesn't go with selling as far as I'm concerned but I'm trying to get more organised so I can do a bit of trading. 😊

Well as you see I'm trying to build this media account from scratch as a beginner gamer would do. The rules of this stream account is no buying just level the char in-game and steem by playing/posting. Ok I'm cheating a bit because the gaming and posting/voting sucked my rc so low the posts of the streams didn't get through. So I rented 500sp so I can continue this.

All the casts are pre recorded so I can have a few days of now and then. My target is record 2 times a day the steem games I play. So I have some time to spare now and then. Have a look around and you see some beginning of a series of casts. I will also air these casts on d.tube

Normally I react with my main account @hans001

See my reaction in steem. I stream on YouTube I build this char on steem and splinterlands without investing. So I let everyone see how you play without pay.

I have been trading cards lately and it has been a sort of rotation for me. I trade cards and spend the profits on improving my collection.

I'm still a newbie and battling at the moment only reveals what cards I need to buy and what cards I need to improve (I guess you get the message I'm passing lol).

Mostly it's just collecting cards. There only 1000s of DAU and a game like this could manage to hit 1 million DAU. At least 100K is a safe bet. So I'm gonna HODL till the prices skyrocket.

It's simply the best blockchain game in existence, The competition (AFAIK) is way behind. Every game has a shelf life. But if you invest in a game @steemmonsters is the current best pick. The best part is that I could be earning cards+DEC just by playing. I'm also impressed by the tournaments because an average person actually has a chance of winning one of these with just a few rented cards.

I enjoy the daily quests and tournaments the most. I just wish there was a better way of pairing tournament battles opponents. It has to be frustrating to the novice player, that in round one, a Champion League player is paired against a Bronze League player. JMHO 🤞

Once in and you know how to play it it might be fun and even an obsession but nowhere I can find easy steps how to start.

I have to do this on my mobile phone and the FAQ is not helpfull. I can practise (account + key available) but I do not know where to start, what to practise. I find it hard to believe I am the only one.

Edit: gah! I voted using Keychain and the box to write a comment didn't appear. Or at least, I couldn't find it (when I had voted through Steemconnect the other time, the box had appeared after I pressed the vote button, but the same didn't happen now with Keychain). I'm adding the comment through an edit on Steemit, then. I hope the answer remains valid after I mess with it on another frontend...

I've enjoyed writing and reading other people's posts about the game even before it was released, and once battles became available, I began writing to talk about my battles. I used to play more, but after the website's accessibility problems I mentioned in the other post worsened, I've been having a hard time playing the game. So, back to writing and curating.

I'd like to be able to continue playing, though. I've begun asking help from a sighted person to select the cards for me. Let's see if I can get back to playing this way.

I really enjoy crafting my deck according to the new rule set and stomping ass. I think that #spt has a lot of neat features working for it. I wish that the arena/UI would receive an overhaul soon.

I'm still new so I don't know how to level my cards yet. I figure after I get a couple more it should make sense? Do I just click on them in inventory?
