It's normally a company like Alphabet or Facebook we see ed up doing something ridiculous to the content creators. But this time it's actually the government that has started the mess. Still, things could have been much better if it wasn't for how YouTube implemented these changes.  

Alphabet is a company that is normally in bed with government and support the mainstream narratives and work on their censorship. But the snake they helped raise bit their had too to the tune of $170 million USD. This is what cause this avalanche of contradictory and vague mess that is going to hurt the creators. If you look into how things work behind the scenes with advertisements etc. you will notice that YouTube would still be ok at least for the mid-term.

What I suggest is to see the silver lining in all of these and try to spread awareness of decentralized alternatives available. The main platform I have seen people mention is BitChute. STEEM has more advantages over BitChute. We just need to make our voices heard.

We can also be happy that the mainstream platforms are shooting themselves on both of their collective feet. It's only a matter of time before a platform like YouTube loose its throne. Currently YouTube is the only mainstream social media I engage with. It's probably the same for you too. Get the best out of it while it lasts.
