I won the #needleworkmonday anniversary prize last week, and I would like to share it with members of the #needleworkmonday community. UPDATE TUESDAY 8 AUGUST 18:00 BST: THIS OFFER IS CLOSED NOW.

I wrote about SPInvest on Saturday - it's a great way to invest and save regularly.

The idea behind SPInvest is that all Steem investments by investors are powered up and leased for at least 20% APR; the income derived from leasing Steem Power is reinvested in more leases or in off-chain investments, for example, other crypto-currencies like Bitcoin and precious metals. At regular intervals, the total holdings are re-evaluated and the token - SPI - is re-valued. Investors can either sell back their tokens to SPInvest or trade them through Steem-Engine.

If you decide to buy some SPI tokens yourself, please make sure that you take heed of the risks:

  • there is no formal governance or agreement in place yet, although @spinvest has published a draft agreement.
  • "not your keys, not your coins".

And as @neoxian puts it so sweetly in a big fat disclaimer:

My ... tokens are just digital pieces of fluff, and may never be worth anything. Be very cautious in purchasing any tokens, including mine ... don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

Thank you again @shanibeer for another useful information! I am losing track with all the tokens and coins that are magically appearing on steem-engine and figuring out what to do with them. I am quite interested about SPI. Basically, we buy the SPIs based on their 1.10STEEM price and they will invest for us, is that right?

Hellooooo, you are in!
Yes, you're absolutely right, you buy SPIs for 1.1 steem and it is powered up and invested for you. Every so often, the value of the holdings (including new earnings) are re-valued and the value of the SPI token (hopefully) increases. The next milestone is 25,000 tokens sold (I think we are at 10,500 so far).

And again, thank you for this opportunity, your generosity and for the explanations, which I must read again. I am not sure if it’s my bad English or my missing ‘cryptogenes’ :-DD but I have problems to understand everything (at the first time) - but I will persists. And your posts are a great help for me.

Great idea to do a @spinvest post - I'm surprised more SPI investors haven't entered, but maybe they aren't following @silverstackeruk.

It would be great if people would actually take note of some of these tips, but not even that is needed just take away the mindset of only being able to wear certain items of clothing once and gosh it would make a big difference.
