Juventus and Portugal Legend Cristiano Ronaldo increased his total goals tally for both club and country to 700 goals. Although the euro 2020 qualification match which saw him reach this landmark, ended in favour of Ukraine as they won by two goals to one, beating portugal, the one time winners of the competition.

Thirty minutes into the game, the host already had two goals against Portugal but going into the second half, Portugal responded through a penalty thanks to a fine finish from Cristiano Ronaldo but that wasnt enough to bring them back into the game as they lost and in the process, brought their thirteen games winning streak to an end.

Cristiano Ronaldo is no doubt a player and a legend at that, most people will talk about in years to come giving his achievements for both clubs and country in recent years and also, his long time duel with Barca legend Lionel Messi. For the Portuguese Legend, it all started at Sporting Cp where the then Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson spotted young Cristiano when they faced Sporting Cp.

Alex Ferguson and his then squad which included the likes of Giggs, were greatly impressed by the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo and as a result the team as at then, pressured Ferguson into bringing the forward to Manchester United, which at the end, all pan-out well.

After signing, Cristiano Ronaldo went ahead scoring goals, destroying defenses and causing nightmares for Clubs that played against his United side and as a result he ended up becoming one of the top all time scorer for the reds. At a point in United, he won his first ever and the much celebrated individual trophy in the world, the ballon d' or and also the Champions league.

Most people believe his very popular move to Spanish side Real Madrid was as a result of his loss in the Champions league final against Lionel Messi's Barcelona. It is widely believed that their duel (battle for the best) started when that match ended and Cristiano Ronaldo being Cristiano Ronaldo made the switch, taking the battle to spain against his long time rival Lionel Messi.

At Real Madrid he continued that which he started at United, scoring goals, piercing hard through defenses and becoming the ultimate tool of destruction for Real Madrid against rival teams all across Europe. Currently at Real, he holds the all time scorer record which amounts to over 400 goals. I personally think he cemented/got the qualification to be referred to as a legend at Real Madrid because of his achievements there.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one player that might take years if not centuries to produce again. An entirely different player when compared to his Rivals. He was and still is a player with so much drive and passion for the game and his achievements so far is proof of it. Aged 34 and still playing at an extremely high level for current team Juventus and Portugal when most players his age would have gone to smaller leagues or the Chinese league to bring their careers to a close, that isn't the case for Cristiano as he is out in full force to make history while still breaking records as well as making them.

Although Portugal lost the match to Ukraine in what would have been "A night to Remember" for Cristiano Ronaldo following his 700th goal mark which he reached thanks to a penalty in the second half of the game, Cristiano, his team mates and coach still believe in Euro 2020.

After the match, Cristiano Ronaldo was quoted saying;

"Records come naturally - I don't go looking for them; records are looking for me! Without having an obsession, they happen naturally."
