Home brewing beers๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ

How's it going Steemers??

Well it's that time of the year! And once again I didn't get invited to the Woolworths Christmas party... (Woolworths is a supermarket here in Australia) and even though I seemed to have worked there the entire year, having to use their self check outs!

So I decided to treat myself with a Christmas bonus at the self check out for all the hard work I have done this year. Got myself three cans of lager home brew beer.

Now my mate just gave me two home-brew barrels so let's brew up the trifector!

Brewing beer is pretty simple. It's more of a waiting game than anything else.

Here is a step by step guide to brewing your own beer.

Put 1 kg of dextrose or raw sugar into your barrel,

Then empty the home-brew can into the barrel.

Add 2 litres of boiling water. Then stir until all the contents in the barrel has dissolved

Then add another 20 litres of water and keep stirring as you fill it up.

Once filled its time to get the party started by adding the yeast.

Sprinkle it on top.

Then stir it in nice and proper.

Put the barrel lid on and fill up the airlock with some water and you are done!

Pretty simple hey. Now you play the waiting game.

After a couple of days the airlock stops bubbling. Which means the yeast has worked its magic and has turn the sugar into alcohol.

Unscrew the lid of the barrel and make sure the yeast isn't still active in the brew.

If there are no bubbles or movement in the brew it's safe to say its time for bottling. Just make sure you don't jump the gun and bottle your beer while the yeast is still doing its thing. Otherwise you will find that your bottled beer will start to explode once they have been capped.

Bottling the beer is the most time consuming part of the process.

Make sure you clean all your bottles well, then sterilise them.

Now it's on to priming the bottles and filling them up with liquid gold.

Add one teas spoon of sugar to each tallie. This helps to activate the left over yeast and carbonate the beer. Luckily I have this sweet sugar scoop which makes life alot easier.

Then fill up the tallie to the neck line.

IMG_20191127_145600.jpg

Chuck a cap into the super auto - matica.

IMG_20191127_145736.jpg

Crank her down.

IMG_20191127_145747.jpg

Then give the bottle a shake to dissolve the sugar.

And stack the bottles up.

From the three barrels I got 65 tallies all up! Not a bad Christmas bonus at all ๐Ÿ˜

Now I like to let my beer sit for about four to five months for the best fizz and flavour. But you can also drink them after two weeks.

Here's a beer I brewed earlier. These bad boys do get you drunk and I'm not sure how to test the alcohol percentage... But they definitely do the trick ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks for stopping by.

I love the way you just drop this shit like, "yeah, thanks Woolworths!" Lol.

It looks like you got this process worked out. You'll have to work out how to test the alcohol content...Maybe have a few and drive around to find a breatho...Get pulled over...Bon's your uncle. (Actually, don't do this...) Lol.

Have a good night bro. I sent this to curangel for some vote-love.

Haha that is definitely one way I could work out the alcohol percentage ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ but YouTube is probably a better option.

I could also just name them mystery beers.. just don't operate vehicles or heavy machinery after two tallies.

That'll work...mystery beers - consume at your own risk.

I have an impressive yeast infection you can help yourself to, might taste a bit to fruity after fermentation though....
