"Digital Doug" by Richard F. Yates
Digital Doug, who used to be Daydream Doug before THE ACCIDENT, was badly shocked a few weeks ago when his mojito splashed all over his laptop, just as a comet was passing overhead, and Doug nearly died by minty alcoholic electrocution! In the morning, when he regained consciousness, Digital Doug discovered he had gained the ability to glow in the dark, whether he wanted to or not, like a strange organic L.E.D.! He also has the ability to deliver shocks to people's ears and the backs of their necks that are 2.5 times stronger static electric shocks!
Unfortunately, the laptop was ruined in the event, and it will probably be months before he can save up enough to buy a new one. If only he'd set up some kind of mobile front end, like Partiko or something, Doug might still be able to post his dinner photos on Steemit and upvote his favorite DTube personalities... But no... Instead, he just glows in the dark now...
There is a moral to this tragic tale: Don't drink mojitos near your laptop when comets are cruising through the sky... Don't be like Digital Doug!
