Burgers, Bounty and Bowls

It was a quiet Sunday. Cool after a few days of scorching heat, so burgers and buns were "on order" for supper.

Earlier, I had made chilli jam and with the abundance of tomatoes, decided to do a tomato sauce with a little zing by making it in the same pot. Well, it really did. Zing. Suits The Husband's penchant for a little extra heat. His is the plate with extra on the side.

Speaking of which, the wheel of accompaniments, included much garden bounty: tomatoes, fresh and in the sauce, lettuce and cabbage for the pickle.

A simple meal with most bits made from scratch including the patties and sourdough buns.

Oh, and last but not least, the "wheel" of little bowls are all Paul de Jongh's. The bottom two, a recent gift from our house guest following a visit to Millstone Pottery. Bittersweet.
