I’ve been writing about several aspects of dcity so far, but I would like to add to that a weekly update about changes that I have made. Tutorials are great for understanding a certain aspect of the game, but along side these it is great to also be able to get insights on day-to-day strategic choices from players that are a bit further ahead in the game. That is what I will try to provide you with in these weekly updates.

Currently I have two dcities. One on my main account @elbrava, which you can find here. My aim for this city is to simply grow as fast as possible and enter the top200 of dcities. This will likely require me to invest more money to make that happen.

My other dcity is for my @invest4free account, which you can find here. This second account I set up specifically to show that through being active on Hive, you can become an investor for free. You will actually be able to build an investment portfolio that will generate passive income for you through being active on hive.

This weeks developments are:

Last week I continued buying Farms, as long as they were less than 1100 SIM. By my calculations, this is more profitable than buying random 1st edition cards. On one condition: you need GMO farming technology. Without that, farms are totally overpriced. Luckily this technology is currently pretty cheap on the market.

If you want to get as high as possible on the rankings, with still keeping SIM income and unemployment at 0%. Then I recommend buying combinations of the circus, zoo, basic home and apartments. Obviously check which are the cheapest. 1 Apartment is the same as 5 Basic homes, so sometimes 5 Basic homes will be cheaper than 1 Apartment. At other times it will be the reverse.

Homeless and Immigrants card are cheap, but their negative popularity slows the growth of your dcity. If you do like to still go the cheap homeless cards route, then I recommend to at least buy Park’s to offset the negative effect on Popularity as Park’s are one of the cheapest cards available on the market and give you 5 Popularity.

I have also started selling my Zoo and Circus cards, since I rather exchange them for Farms, while also selling the Population cards I don’t need anymore. This costs me a few spots on the ranking

I have a new background, as I wanted to buy a very cheap Night club, but mistakenly bought the Night background instead...

I have also bought two cheap Farms for this account, as I have the GMO farming technology on this account as well. A very good combination.

Another decision I made, after seeing that job centers were pretty cheap on the market is to buy two of them for this account. After all, it is a an extra source of income when you sell the workers that are trained.

It has been a pretty good week for both my accounts. My income has gone up significantly.

If you have any questions about your dcity about how to improve it, how to grow it more quickly or any other question. Please do ask in the comments. I try to always give a response.

Thanks for reading, do follow me for more dcity and investment content and see you next time!

If you would like to start investing in dcity, because it is fun and very profitable. Or you want to get more hive to increase your investment. Then why not start a Risingstar account?

Risingstar is completely free and once you start leveling up it starts to take less time with bigger rewards. As soon as you hit level 20 you can start to withdraw your Starbits and convert them to SIM that you could invest in dcity. The combination of these two events is really solid way to generate funds that you can use to invest in other things.

It is a very fun game, with a lively market for the NFT cards that you get while playing. So along with earning Starbits, you will also get cards that you can sell for any Hive-engine token you like.

Check the game out here, I am sure that you won’t regret it.

Oh, one of each building can be pricey.

The tier 1 technologies are now usually less than 800 sim, which is great. So I would definitely advise to save some sim for that.
