In 2005 I had the opportunity to travel to Colombia to record an accordion in the best Colombian style. I took that trip to know everything I could about the city of Bogotá and the music of that country that does not reach many other parts.

My hostess there, Yolanda, is also a proud Colombian who loves all things done in her country, and a top music lover. Among the things that I had to investigate and her recommendations, I came up with an arsenal of quality Colombian sounds.

Among those was this group, which was born in the late 90s, by the hand of the English producer Richard Blair, who was a recognized producer in the studios of Peter Gabriel and who since the early 90's settled in Colombia. This proposal initially combined elements of salsa and then elements of ethnic and traditional music of the South American country, in combination with the specialty of Blair, electronic music. The name of the project: Sidestepper.

En el 2005 tuve la oportunidad de viajar a Colombia para grabar un acordeón al mejor estilo colombiano. Ese viaje lo aproveché para conocer todo lo que pudiera de la ciudad de Bogotá y de la música de ese país que no llega a muchas otras partes.

Mi anfitriona allá, Yolanda, es además de una orgullosa colombiana que ama todas las cosas hechas en su país, una melómana de primera. Entre las cosas que yo llevaba para investigar y las recomendaciones de ella me vine con un arsenal de sonidos colombianos de primera calidad.

Entre esos estuvo este grupo, que nació a finales de los años 90, de la mano del productor inglés Richard Blair, quien fue un reconocido productor en los estudios de Peter Gabriel y que desde comienzos de los 90 se radicó en Colombia. En esta propuesta se combinaron inicialmente elementos de la salsa y luego elementos de la música étnica y tradicional del país suramericano, en combinación con la especialidad de Blair, la música electrónica. El nombre de la agrupación: Sidestepper.
