Sonambulist Penning by @prydefoltz has me all kinds of excited because one of my favorite writers on steemit is posting again! But also, I love her sense of word play ("play" being the operative word) in this piece. I am one of the "writing dead".

The end is near - a paradigm shift
Indigo children rising out of the mist
The Universe is aligning
With all the wakeful dreams

In a fine-china cup she served him tea
Made from the bark of the wolf-willow tree

Curse of the Bark by @momzillanc is a piece of narrative poetry that makes excellent use of puns and tension- a great little mini-story for Halloween.

My mind, it rocks gently
like birds on a swing,
swaying like trees
on the edge of a dream.

Obliging Doom by @paintingangels feels like the madness love makes us all feel, and it just hurts so good.

what a meeting this shall be;
my poetry is bound to hear all about it.

To Hell With a Balloon by @lukakorba is rife with symbolism and personification, which for all it's brevity hits like a velvet hammer.
