I'm so happy I found this after the New Year! Allows me to loop back in time and rewind the clock to the moment before 2019 became part of history.
What a lovely tour, for me tinged with a bit of nostalgia. I once visited Vienna briefly and remember clearly the Opera House. My visit was brief because of circumstances, but that moment, in bustling beautiful Vienna, comes back to me as I look at your pictures.
"So in the evening,
you can dance into the New Year,
under the shining chandeliers
of the Christmas illumination"
This is sheer poetry. I don't know if you were aware as you wrote it, but it is perfect in style and emotion. What a flare for language you have!
Thank you for highlighting this moment in time. It was a great way to spend my early Friday afternoon.

It's nice to know that you have been on the streets of Vienna before. Even if it was a brief visit, you probably caught some of the flair of this city. It's so hard to capture the atmosphere on photos.
I had to smile when I read this. I actually see myself as a very prosaic writer, without any talent for poetry. So much for the self and external image! 🙃 But I'm very happy about your view on my writing style. 🌷
Since I still enjoy writing a lot, I will probably let my readers take part in my excursions into art and culture even more often. it will be a great pleasure for me if you accompany me on these tours. 😃

I'm smiling about the contrast between self and external image. You can believe me about your writing: I'm not skilled at much but my formal training is in literary analysis. I have a good "ear". The lack of artifice adds value--prosaic, and eloquent 😇
I was in Vienna in 1972, for I think two days, traveling with my mother. We stayed in a pension near the Opera House. It was the week before Easter. There was a celebratory air, everywhere. My mother would have loved it, but she was ill, and we never really got to tour the city. So I'm looking forward to your Easter blog 🐣🌷

Maybe you know the expression "Servus". It's a friendly greeting, which is used in the welcome as well as in the farewell.
It's a pity that you haven't seen more of Vienna due to your mother's illness. In almost 5 decades a lot has changed in the city. I'm happy to present you some highlights of the Vienna today with its eventful history.
