I think the Dutch auction went smoothly and I hope most people got the tokens they wanted. More are still available at 3 cents.
We narrowly failed to sell all of the 3-cent TULIP tokens, so there is still an opportunity for new players to join in. Sales often don't stop until well into Day 2. Let's look at some early numbers.
We have sold about 49,000 TULIP tokens in this new round; to be precise, players have bought 49,160 tokens. Remember that this includes those bought by the game management.
Initial Fund: 926 STEEM
Current Fund: 927 STEEM
Profit: +1 STEEM
Profit %: 0.1%
TULIP Tokens: 49,160
ABV: 1.88 STEEM cents
The above numbers have not changed much since yesterday. Post and curation rewards will start to kick in within a few days. Such rewards will be modest but will provide some useful income. I shall add more data once we start to cash out profits in week 3.
One other thing to note is that the @Busbecq account did start with certain holdings from previous games. These holdings total 337 STEEM, so that the fund capital earning money has a gross value of some 1,263 STEEM. This means that, for example, a 10% rise in the fund value would give a 14% rise in the value of the tokens in play.
Now, most of these trading games, including ONECENT and ADDAX, have sought income from a variety of sources. It would be easy to dump all the STEEM into our own MAPR fund and wait for that price to rise. We do have a decent holding in MAPR as it stabilises the fund and guarantees a certain income. But we want more!
The search for "more" also includes "more volatility" and the potential for invested tokens to tank. History is not wholly positive on this front, but we have had a measure of success before. In this particular round, we are looking at the new SteemCITY game and making the most of our TRENDO tokens.
It only took a couple of hours to figure out how to optimise SteemCITY, so let's see how that pans out. We do have a fall-back position in that 28 days later we can sell our whole city back to our management account at a fair price.
More updates tomorrow.
Thanks for playing the TULIP Mania Game!
