📷 Amazing natural minerals

Have a nice day! It turns out that for the first time stones were called gems in the Urals. These included any colored minerals that were used to make jewelry or crafts. In addition to the common name, each stone had its own name, reflecting its special qualities.

The name "gem" came to the masses from the light hand of the Russian mineralogist Alexander Fersman, who in the last century became one of the founders of the Ilmen state reserve.

Fersman saw in the stone the beauty of colors, lines, tones and shapes created by the creative genius of man. He was able to notice the beauty and harmony inherent in them.
