Jojo - A dog's story

Hello everyone,
I hope you all are in good health and following the social distancing rule. Following social distancing is easy you don’t have to pretend anymore. Ok, I am off with an awkward start here. And I can repair that by just pressing the backspace, but I am going to leave it anyway. You know for #wordcount.

A wise lady once told me that if something pointless is making you happy its no longer pointless. That being said get ready for something which is no longer pointless. Oh no no!! Don’t be scared I am not going to preach you about life or anything. That comes later.

What I have here is a letter from Jojo. Who is Jojo? Read and find out for yourself.

Hi, I am Jojo. I got separated from my mother at very young age. Never knew who my father was. Jojo is not the name my mother gave. Actually we don’t even need a name. We usually sniff b… Never mind. I don’t wanna gross you out at the start of this letter.

I am writing this letter for the sake of writing. You know trying something new. This is the first time someone from our kind is able to develop the ability to type and convey the message clearly. So I thought why seize this opportunity to let a message across.

Now I am free ‘individual’ or as you prefer to call Stray Dog. First of all the word stray is really very offensive to us. I mean just because we walk on the four and don’t speak your lingo you think that we must be owned by someone or else we are stray. So what? You don’t have free spirited people around. Who know you may label them as stray too. And your language, What is that? We are far better than you in that front. We speak the same language globally. Hell!!! I know for sure that the my brother from Mars would understand my language. But you think that having different languages makes you superior beings. What would you do when you are stuck in a island with people from different countries. Good luck getting out alive from there. Look I am not judging you but can you try to be a little less pretentious.

This is going to be a long letter so please sit down. The other day I was talking to a friend of mine and he was hurt. And one fine lady among you took him to shelter fixed him up with nice milk and biscuits and later took him to the weird guys who poked him with needle and he healed up quick. Now that guy is going nuts for some reason. Yes.. Now Woof thinks that you all are the same. That small term memory slot even forgot that it was on of you guys who hurt him in the first place. I tried telling him that he shouldn’t place that much trust on that person. But he seemed to lost his mind.

I have learned a lot from you people in past two year. And the best trick I learned is not to trust but others. And I tried to teach the same to my brothers here. But the response is always the same. “Its called every MAN for himself” you dummy. They all poke fun at me. I want to teach them a lot but idiots wont listen. No worries I will keep trying. I will be more persistent from now on. That too I learned from you guys.

Now this is a serious matter. I have a girlfriend. Well she is not independent and has a human looking after her. We first met outside the park when the human was looking away and we were sniffing each.. we were getting to know each other. That was the first time we met. She was all white and clean. And I was wearing a black garbage bag. I am kidding that was just an accident I was just going through the dump when that black plastic bag got stuck around my body. I tried to get it off but couldn’t. The point is, I was not at my best that day, All thanks to you guys. But something worked and she was interested in me. Yes I am irresistible even when I am wearing a garbage bag. Now coming to the serious stuff. We like each other and wants to get to know her more. You know taking her to a walk, Showing here where I hid my bones. I am kidding about the bone guys. That’s something you guys made it up. Its only the rich dogs who can afford. We usually chew and crush them out. Not even your forensics would be able to identify what it was originally. The point is I like her. I want to show her shed where I hid when it rains. Although it smell nasty but its okay, You get used to in a while.

Coming back to my love story. It already ended. You must be wondering what happened. Apparently I am not approve by you guys. Who the hell are you guys to judge me. Its bad enough that you guys are fight among yourself and created the concept of race. Now you impose that on to us. She is not my type? She is exactly my type a female dog. What the hell is wrong with you guy? Interfering with my love life. You woofer!! do you know how much guts it takes to go and sniff… I mean getting to know a lady when the alphas are around. But you don’t give a sh!t about my life or anybody elses for that matter.

I moved on, Or rather forced to moved on. I even stopped going around that block. And now I moved to the other side of the street. I though I will start fresh here, maybe the humans here are different from that side. But as I explored further I realized that you all are the same. It doesn’t matter if you live in high society or the city slums. You all are the same. You care about yourself only and rest of the world can go and woof itself.

You are the worst thing on this planet. The other day. I was going through my daily business and searching the dump when some throw-ed a stone at me. That broke my hind leg. Now I am limping. I cant run if someone is trying to attack. And it may take me weeks to get better. You know I am not as lucky as my crazy friend. To make the matter worse their is this slum kid who treats me as his pet. He bring me biscuits daily but looks like he could use some. And he keeps calling me JoJo. That kid thinks that I am his best friend. Am I his best friend? I don’t know. All I wanted was me to be left alone but looks like I am stuck here. JoJo and SlumBoy.

If you are still reading I have nothing more to share with you. That’s my story. If you can please learn how you love others. Looks like you could use some. And one more thing we can actually see ghost or sprite or whatever you call it and we are scared of them too.
