The Steem Citadel: Circa 2150
The year is 2150. The Steem Citadel stands looming over the rest of the city like some dark behemoth lording over it's minions. A beacon and reminder of all that was lost. The old order, long gone now and replaced by these fractured communities around their different currencies.
No longer do the people rally around their flags, their useless symbols and idols. No...it's all about the currencies now. After the great crash of 2084, when the last great fiat currency came tumbling down, it brought the rest of the world with it. Militaries without governments to pay them turned to mercenaries. Borders became meaningless. When the cities started to fall, everyone just assumed that someone would be coming to help, that someone would take control...none did.
At least not until the blockchains.
When all the governments fell...Steem rose. When the fiat currencies all came crashing down...Steem rose. From the ashes of an old world, a reaction to the burning timber of society that had finally consumed so much, it consumed itself. In that hell, in that chaos...Steem rose.
So here we are. In the future that THEY have built...the Steemians. The votes that they cast move worlds, and to think, the legend is the first of them earned all that Steem by posting pictures of bugs and cats, and crappy artwork and writing on the internet...what a world.
What they don't know is that the lower coiners are getting sick of being pushed around, of not having a say. We're sick of groveling for an upvote, or having your entire future dashed because of a downvote from one of them in a bad mood. The time has come for US to rise. The time has come...for DOGE!

I just freestyled that whole thing. I do sometimes daydream about what would happen if by some twist of fate, Steem became by itself a trillion dollar market cap, and the Steemians here suddenly became the most powerful people in the world. Unlikely, but it would probably make for some entertaining fiction.
If you've been following along you might recognize that this is sort of a culmination of my last few posts where I was making these buildings. The story idea came to me as I was finishing things up and I thought it would make for a nice story/joke.
Most of the image was actually all done in 3D, the only parts I painted in were the rain plus a bit of color correction. Hope you like! That's about all for today, as always...

Ah, now we get to see the final piece. The lighting, shadow, and weather effects fit well together, as it helps add to the mysterious and fearful feeling, in this seemingly dystopian background. When order collapses, we will only have the Blockchain.

It's a great thought. Hopefully we get there a little sooner so I can enjoy my own dictatorship before I'm to old to get the most out of it.
