HF 21(22) and #Newsteem Have Exceeded My Every Expectation

Alright, if you'll remember, I was a bit skeptical but optimistic. I thought the HF would bring positive changes, but I largely thought they'd be similar to HF 20, behind the scenes, hard to notice sort of changes. Maybe in the long run we'd see some metrics improve. I thought the loudest large stakeholders would keep their word because I believe they want what's best for Steem and their own investment.

I did NOT think bidbots would start curating. I did NOT think the trending page would change dramatically, and today when I saw this...

I literally was staring at my monitor with my mouth hanging open.

All these things combined are so far beyond the impact I expected. Add to that that Steemit is making consistent progress on SMT's, DAO projects are getting funded, Steemit made enough money on Ads to at least pause selling and the only thing not extremely bullish right now is the price.

But I say that depends on your outlook, because right now, you have a choice. You can create some good content and actually earn a fair amount of Steem since the curators are out, OR you can buy Steem because it's insanely cheap right now.

I read a quote from Warren Buffet that said, "The price is what you pay, but the value is what you get." When it comes to price/value currently I can't imagine any reason not to be buying and/or earning Steem right now.

If this is what we're doing in a BRUTAL bear market, imagine what we'll be doing when the market eventually turns around. Imagine if the DAO has enough value to pump out millions, and we'll all be in charge of deciding what gets funded and what doesn't. Then it'll be too late for regular people to buy in, they'll HAVE to earn their way in. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just delusional, but I don't think so.

I think we're sitting on a mountain of diamonds that are still uncut and very few people can see the future value. They're only seeing current price.

Of course I could be totally wrong and we'll all be broke and angry in a year or so. We'll see. Until then, keep steemin.

It does seem to be working surprisingly well... I have been a massive skeptic, too. I thought there would be "changes," for sure... but mainly to make the rich richer, and everyone else sucking dust. Somehow, that has turned out to NOT be the case.

As you say, the only thing that seems to be lagging at the moment is the price of Steem... I'm just going to pocket that and not complain too much, and see it as an opportunity to earn cheap Steem while we can.

That is an interesting development I was not expecting. It will at least be entertaining to watch!

I've said before I'm pretty impressed with the work that's going on. Otherwise I only know what markets are like from reading other people pounding keyboards about it XD It still doesn't mean a lot to me.

I do feel like this hardfork has really changed a few things. The last one I remember having this much effect was when they changed the reward curve to be linear and I upvote became worth 2c and I was so happy XD I'm pretty sure there was another 1-2 after that but that's how much I remember them.

And now it's worth buggerall again lol but that's okay
