If Bird or Flower (Shakespearean Sonnet)

Birds take their love as far as they may go,

whereas good flowers keep them rooted deep;

wings know of distant suns, and sand, and snow,

though they know not how much these gardens weep.

---

The lovely petals open gentle hues,

and from their core is born a blooming scent,

which lures and lulls the passions and the blues,

and so they may consider life well spent.

---

Would you consider then birds also cry?

They miss what’s left behind and also fear,

for in the distance the may also die,

without seeing again what is so dear.

If bird or flower loves you well, my friend,

their hearts sure will remember till the end.

Thanks for readig poems.

I'm sure I missed this music better.
Beautiful poem. You make me think of this super athletes who spend time in retirement and then come back better than ever kicking rookies asses right and left.
I know there's not poetry in such boorish analogy, but how true it is of sports, botany, or zoology.

I'm so glad you've missed this and that I can finally give you some of it :) I love sonnets; love reading them; love composing them; and love analogies, too ;)
Huge hug, dear friend @hlezama
