"good night kiss" a five minute freewrite

Today’s prompt is:

good night kiss

Faver had met Sally on the first day at university. She was standing at the student bar and there was something about the way she stood, the way she threw her head back when she laughed, the way her hair glinted in the light, that had captivated him.

He just stopped where he was and stared at her. She noticed him almost straight away.

"What are you looking at, short-arse?" she asked.

The words might have been offensive coming from another's mouth but when this young woman spoke them Faver couldn't help but smile.

"I have absolutely no idea," he said eventually.

"Well, buy me a drink and let's see if we can work it out together." They spent the afternoon and the evening together, drinking and putting the world to rights. They both had a shared vision for how the future would look, how things would improve and how they would both fight for change.

They believed in the same things. Or at least they did back then.

By the time Faver said goodnight to Sally, and they shared their first goodnight kiss, he knew he was going to ask her to marry him.

But he had no idea he would end up betraying her.

As usual, I started with the freewrite prompt and used themostdangerouswritingapp.com to write the first five minutes (and then popped it into google docs to check for errors and tidy it up a bit):
