"Prism Labor" - Ambient Techno Live Modular DTube Performance ft Qu-Bit Prism

(Edited)

Here's a new modular piece that starts with some serpentine arpeggios from the Dannysound EN129 Thru-Zero oscillator getting mutilated by the Qu-Bit Prism into an ambient microtime drone. One of my go-to techniques for modular is finding a unique sound to base the melody of the patch on and locating a simple point in the patch to modulate that dramatically obscures the melody. My first forays into electronic composition almost always featured a filter in this spot, but lately I've been enamored with using the Qu-Bit Prism, with its insane microtime bitcrushing karplus delay hyjinx all under the hood of one module, for this sort of "reveal" application. In the start of this video I'm essentially rolling the onboard clock divider of the delay side of the unit down from microtime into a totally comprehendible sixteenth delay. I'm also modulating the audio rate signal hitting the thru-zero fm on the dannysound into a more melodic range, sequencing it independently with the Make Noise Rene for some performability. Love the vactrol plucking interactions between the EN129 and the optomix LPG, and not exclusively because this is how it was demo'd to me by Robert Lowe at Control in Brooklyn where I snap bought it. Not exclusively.

Been focusing mainly on finishing my first modular synth sample library and making some videos exclusively from that soundbank on my Digitakt. I'm getting awesome results and currently working on creating single cycle .wavs of some of my favorite patches. Stay tuned for launch information as I'll be offering it at a pretty significant discount via Steem purchase before taking it to the masses.

It is kinda hypnotic watching you work mate :) Love the sounds you are playing with here, this is a great composition and performance! BTW (and this is likely dtube's fault, posting there seems to mess up tags) but you only have two tags used here. At the very least you should have #music to reach music lovers who are not already following you, and if you are using #creativecoin you should definitely also have #sonicgroove which is under the CCC umbrella but focused on music, and if using those two should use #palnet as well (decent overlap between CCC and SONIC holders and PAL holders), and of course #neoxian is another general purpose tag.

Thanks carl! I actually went and revised the tags but I guess it didn't publish! Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Drumoperator,
Great to see you! What an awesome SLAB of electronica - brilliant!
I could envisage some frenetic Prism Labour to these pumping frequencies!
