Utah has its moments - Photography Lovers Community
Utah has some decent landscapes
As much as I don't like living here in Utah, I will admit that it does have some pretty nice looking landscapes. Once you can escape the horrible air quality of the valley, and get up into the clear air of the mountains or go down to Southern Utah where some of the national parks are, the scenery is pretty beautiful.
I took these pictures a couple years ago up in Sundance Ski Resort before all the snow came in. I was looking through some of my old pictures today and trying to find some reasons why we are still living here in Utah because the air has been so bad this winter.
Each winter, the pollution is trapped here in the valley because the cold air keeps it all down and the mountains surrounding the whole valley act as a bowl, so it gets so thick that it is a nasty smog. A couple days ago, flights at the airport had to be diverted to other cities because the planes could not see through the pollution to even land and they said that the air quality is so bad it is like smoking a pack of cigarettes a day, which is pretty horrible for kids and babies when you think about their developing bodies.
Faith and I have been hoping to move out of Utah for some time now, and ever since we got back from Thailand, we can't wait to move there and begin our adventures. Once our children are ready to go, we will set out on the next chapter of our lives.

Thanks. I appreciate it.
Welcome and thank you.
I love Utah. Have you been to Kanab? Painted canyons abound there.
I’ve never been to Kanab, but it is on the backside of Zions National Park and Ive been there a few times. It is beautiful down in that area. Way better than up here where I live. If I were to stay in Utah, I would move the family down to southern Utah.
Is there a large city nearby where all this pollution initially comes and then gets trapped?
I live right next to Salt Lake City, but the mountains trap all of the pollution from everything north of SLC to many of the cities down south of it as well.
Woooooah! Really impressive photography! Love nature, the colors, the gradients! Really love it! ♥ I will give some Pal love to you ♥
Thanks homie
