Today I was caught up in thought relating to life youth and perception. As we head through out own road through life we all adapt to making use of some form of crutches to get us through our days, and at some stage we will all get older and trade such crutches for canes.

We all get older at some stage and despite the fact that we more than likely refused to hear wisdom from our elders during the years of our youth, we somehow managed to make it as far as we did by some miracle, and once we are old enough, we get to repeat the cycle once more and try spreading some knowledge to the new generation, who again will ignore us, until they reach the point of appreciating the value of it - more than likely too little too late :D

Trading Crutches For Canes

Reflecting in a moment where the past stands on the threshold
while we look up at the future that swims within the secrets it holds
and all we really have is the moment we are in
every choice and decision is where we begin

Sing all you want to ears youth
who's minds are censored to concrete truth
that one day we might all remain sane
as we retire our crutches in a trade for a cane

for the young may well trail and very well error
and at some point pave their own way
until the sun sets at daybreak
on the dawn of their day

I now recall guidance and knowledge of wise
that state fun-times in moonshine is not without price
when you're two miles from break-point and still on the verge
remember you're still mastering the choice between wisdom and urge.
