DIY lighted Christmas photo: Another Dollar Tree Craft

Doing more Dollar tree craft

I decide this time to do a lighted photo. For this project I used three 11x14 picture frames I found at the dollar tree. I took the glass out of two of them and have set them aside for a different future project. A large gift bag with with a design that has lights in the design. A strand of dollar tree led mini lights, some Gorilla glue and some additional paint and tape the 3 last items I already had on hand.

I glued the frames together then had to wait for the glue to set

I used three frames, to make sure the battery pack and wires for the LEDs keeps the frame from leaning at a weird angle. If your battery pack is slim you might be able to do it with two. The glued those together. Then I took the glass and used it as a template to cut the gift bag to the proper size. Then attached it to the backing pf the picture frame (you know the cardboard part of them) then used a sharp point to poke holes in the giftbag through the cardboard, in key places where there is lights or stars in the photo. Then I attach that to the first frame. And bend the ears to hold it into place.

Then come the lights

I trace a whole in another cardboard backing from the battery pack and cut it out. I push the lights through the holes securing them into place with tape. I then tape the battery pack to the cardboard backing making sure the switch and access to change the batteries are sticking out slightly.

Then all that was left to do is put the back on

And touch up the frame where they are glue together at. For under $5 I have a nice light up Christmas photo that I can use for decorations or even give as a gift. These cost me $5 in materials but less than that as I get to do another project with the glass. I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet but I will find something.

I really like how this turned out

I am gonna make a second one to gift out. I am obsessed to see what kind of cool things I can keep making.

This is simply beautiful!!!

It's a comforting and cozy decoration.

You can do something like this not only with a Christmas theme but, also, countless other themes as well.
