Corona purchasing changes
Now that people are spending more time at home this has a lot of influence on their behaviour.
And we can see the difference in the purchases at the supermarket. In Europe the big hoarding wave has passed, no more silly toilet paper mass purchases.
But this has lead to other things. People are buying more food, especially fresh fruit and vegetables.
This is partially due to the fact that most restaurants are closed and they have to cook for themselves. Something that also helps is a bit more time. So there are less pre prepared junk meals and more home cooking with fresh vegetables since we all know that vitamins boost the immune system.
So what are we buying now during the pandemic?
- fresh fruit
- fresh vegetables
- BBQ supplies
- cooking supplies like pots, pans, knives, etc
- Alcohol
Here we can really see the spikes in the US which is running a little behind Europe in the cycle of the disease.

How are we buying in Corona times?
Well this is a really easy one. No one likes to stand in queues that are so long that you cannot see the end so there has been a massive shift to either online shopping or trying to find the slow hours where there are potentially less people around.
Generating revenue from your closed physical store
So E-commerce is currently really experiencing a boom. All entrepreneurs and small business owners that have postponed getting into the online game are now really regretting this and are scrambling to catch up.

But as with most people the shop owners prefer working for a living.
It is better to earn an income then to be dependant on handouts and credits from the government.
