A Favorite Freewrite

Every Tuesday, you have a chance to win a membership to Steem Basic Income, SBI, at the Freewrite House.

Try to win one, my friends. An everlasting vote on your posts is nothing to sneeze at.

We want to make it super easy for you. Your task is to tell us in the comment section about one - or more- freewrites of others you have read in the last couple of days you really liked. Yup, not your own!!

The comment must be at least 50 words long - no upper limit 🤪

See the rules below for details.

In an ideal world, you also give that person a nice upvote - but we are not going to check on that.

  • Go to the Daily Prompt post by @mariannewest.
  • Read as many Freewrites as you can.
  • Tell us about a freewrite you really liked and why.
  • Your comment must be at least 50 words long telling us about the freewrite.

Choose from the last couple of days if possible so others can go, visit, and, inspired by your description, leave a vote.

@zeleiracordero wrote an interesting short tale on...

Eat up! - A short tale

How clever that the prompt "vegetables" was woven into the short tale too. Talk about being scared of eating veggies ^_^

@whatisnew wrote nice poetry as well the story behind it..

Day 788: 5 Minute Freewrite: Tuesday-Prompt: Fern Seeds

I liked her interesting story on how she started planting and how she kept busy during summers. It reminds me of the need to tend to our container garden, now overgrown with weeds. ^_^

@wonderwop shared such a lovely photo of a flowering Christmas cactus.

Day-788-Freewrite Tuesday Fern

I actually have never heard of one before, so today I learned something new.

A story written by @zeleiracordero using the prompt, fern is deep because it raises many questions about life, dreams and reality. It can really mess with your head if you think about it too much and that is why I say this story is "deep." There is one question asked that blew me away and one that I never thought of before. When you read "A fern mask" see if you can find that one question that stands out more than the others. My question for you is, have I piqued your interest now?

I have so got this!!!
@botefarm wrote us a deeply moving and thought provoking poem for the prompt only what we could carry. For me it explores how we today, just like Adam and Eve long before us, ravage what we most cherish, even as we love it. What is that temptation, carried out over and over throughout history, for us to do what we know to be wrong? I loved this poem.
Then there was @mvkean with his very first and excellent freewrite for the same prompt which you can read here. For me, who knows NYC pretty well, his description of his first day in the city really entertaining.
By now I need to disclose that I am the Tuesday encourager, and Tuesday most certainly did not disappoint! It was a family affair too, because @carolkean wrote a fabulous FIVE MINUTE (OK she went a tiny bit over because there had to be an ending didn't there?) about a murderous refugee, and I for one approve of this murder. Or was it manslaughter? You decide.

I like ireenchew's entry for the vegetables prompt this week. Even though she failed to drop the link in the prompt post, I found it when searching for posts to tipu in the @steemitmamas tag. Multi-tasking!

https://steempeak.com/freewrite/@ireenchew/5-minute-freewrite-prompt-continuation-part-24-or-vegetables

I am so inspired by those like Ireen who are doing multi-part stories with the prompts. One day maybe I will try this, but for now I just look. This part is very self-contained, interesting, and a bit creepy. Doing a bad thing for a good reason is the theme I found here. It makes me want to know what happens next. Very good dialog and descriptions too.
