Steem Basic Income Giveaway: The right way sugar a pancake!

avatar

Thanks to everyone who put in an entry for the Insider/Outsider question! It was interesting to see how everyone interpreted the question, with many people thinking about personal change rather than what I had originally thought! However, pretty much everyone agreed that change was most effective from within...

So this week, I'm in a cafe trying to kill time after an unexpected after an unexpected swap around with my wife (car for bike). My wife forgot her wallet and so I needed to come in an hour earlier than expected to pay for the bike storage...

Unfortunately, as I was out at the museum with my toddler, it was one of the few days that I packed no gear... So only a violin and a phone! Trust mez playing Steem on a phone is quite frustrating compared to a lap or desk top.

So, despite the fact that I was roundly defeated in the cracker buttering question... I'm going to chance my luck again. With pancakes and sugar/lemon!

My Question

  1. When you put lemon and sugar on a pancake... Does the lemon go first? Or the sugar? Why?

My sample answer

IMG_20191117_095123.jpg

Okay... Sugar goes first then you dissolve it with lemon. If you do it otherwise, then you are the spawn of chaos! Or at the very least, a hater of kittens and all things cute.

By doing the sugar first, you have the satisfaction of watching dissolve away as you squeeze the lemon on it! If you do the lemon first, it partly soaks into the pancake of just dribbles off... So you are left with undissolved sugar or a puddle of lemon juice on the plate. Obviously, that is a really bad outcome!

So, with the sugar first... You are completely in control of how the lemon juice goes... You can direct it easily to dissolve the sugar, leaving you a delicious blend of the two flavours.

Rules

  1. Upvote if you want, it increases the payout and then I can hopefully sponsor more people.
  2. Resteem is NOT neccessary, but the more people see this, the more the people will be likely to be sponsored.
  3. In the comments, answer as best as you can the questions that are posed in the "My Questions"!
  4. I have added a small Steem-Bounty to the post, so that everyone who replies with a valid entry will get something back. If I give your post a small upvote, it is valid (also, subscribe to @dustsweeper for maximum benefit!).
  5. I will be sponsoring as many people as this post pays out in liquid SBD/STEEM. Also I will kick in at least the required amount to round up to the full number. Winner is by random generator after a shortlisting of quality comments!

Steem Basic Income

One of the first communities that I came in contact with at the beginning of my time at Steemit was @steembasicincome. As a author starting out on your fresh new Steemit account, Steemit can be a daunting and lonely place to be. OFten, it can feel like you are posting into an abyss with no one listening and with no ability to grow out of the situation. A share of Steem Basic Income gives you a guaranteed vote on one post a day, thus giving you a small but over time cumulative support to your account to help grow you out of your initial wilderness!

With this post, I want to help sponsor people who might not even have the spare 1 STEEM that is required for registration. So, when this post pays out, I will sponsor people depending on the payout of this post. Basically, I will round up the SBD payout from this post and then that will be the number of people I will sponsor. (So, if the payout is 2.3 SBD, I will sponsor 3 people). OF course, this is not simply an altruistic move, as the sponsor of a Steem Basic Income share also gets a share, so it is a great way to help others whilst helping yourself!

Last week's winners

The last post paid out 0 SBD and 2.378 STEEM in liquid earnings. So, that would make 3 shares.

The winners by random draw are:

@fredkese

@joanstewart

@papilloncharity

Thanks for the win.

Never used lemon in pancakes before. Not a common thing here to add lemon so guess I'm out of this. Maybe might try it someday then know what to use first.

My pleasure! Yes... not adding the lemon as such... just the juice!

Yea, no lemon juice on a pancake I've eaten

I've never had pancakes with sugar and lemon. I like your reasoning. I put butter and maple syrup on my pancakes. I apply the butter first so it melts and mixes with the maple syrup.

Butter and maple syrup! I've never tried that... maple syrup alone, yes... but with butter???!??... Sounds like a delicious heart attack!

You fell off my radar a bit after leaving PHC. It wasn't until today that I thought of adding you to Gina, so I could follow up with your posts. So, back on the radar from now on. :0)

Can't play, though.... lemon on pancakes????? Never even heard of that. I like my pancakes sweet as can be, so sugar only.

Lemon on pancakes... shaking my head in disbelief ;0)

I had no idea that you had left PHC! I was hanging out waiting for the Garden Update contest in the link drops!

Anyway, the lemon juice (or orange juice) is a nice tang... but the whole thing is still pretty sweet, so you might be pleasantly surprised!... just do the sugar first....

😂 Last month's contest wasn't announced in there either. Good thing you found it though. Btw, in case you missed it: the new one is out 😉

I will definitely try the lemon thing next time. Sugar first!

Yep, definitely the sugar first, then the lemon and then sprinkle over the ground cinnamon!
At least that's the way that we do it over here!
Blessings!

Wait... with cinnamon?!?!?!? I'm definitely trying that out next time! Thanks for the idea!

I am sure that you are going to love it cinnamon my friend.
Remember to spread the cinnamon on the inside of the pancake.
People normally mix the cinnamon with the sugar and squeeze the lemon on top,
Spread liberally and enjoy!
Blessings!

This is so wrong!!!!

Maple syrup goes on a pancake. The end.

But if you were to put lemon and sugar on it for some strange reason, you would mix them into a syrup first - probably heat it, and them put it on. Then you would eat the pancake wondering why there was no maple syrup on it.

Haha... you guys are obsessed about your maple syrup on your waaaayyyyy tooo fluffy pancakes! On the other hand, I always finish of the pancake session with a single maple syruped one as well...

For perfect distribution, you first mix your perfect lemon to sugar ratio in a separate bowl, then spread it on the pancake. Additional washing up, but superior pancake - every bite is perfecto!

Haha... okay, that might just be a bit too much perfection for me!

lol yes me too. I must confess I usually do lemon first then the sugar, but your reasoning for sugar first makes much more sense! But your post got me thinking what would the perfect way be :) Extra washing up is always something I consider so I wouldn't do it the way I suggested either lol
