So What Am I Looking For In Palnet Curation? Views from a fresh whale-thing
Since we've launched Palnet.io, I've been trying to do more manual curation.

I'm having troubles. I curate many of the people that I follow and that's due to them having a track record of posting what I consider to be quality stuff.
I've ventured in to the "new" page, and that's where it gets rough.
Single pictures and memes will not get an upvote from me. The laziest of junk, links to other website articles, will probably even net you a flag or several.
However, posts such as these will get my support all day long.

Take a look at the posts above and see what they all have in common. They are all well written, well thought out, and not just slapped together to "make a quick post".
I've seen many people come into the Palnet Discord and complain that no one upvotes their posts. And I have a couple of reasons why I didn't:
I didn't see it - Yeah, we can't see all the posts, this seems obvious.
The post is lazy - If I click through and see just words in an order that makes zero sense, you probably do not see my vote on there.
You dumped the token on claimdrop or payout - This one is personal. If I have seen that you are dumping the coin as they come in without powering up, then I am not going to facilitate that and help you. Don't expect to be rewarded without being willing to reward others.
I have a largish stake in Palnet and it's going to get bigger as we go on. I WANT to spread this stake out to as many people as I can, please make it easier on me.
Thank you.
Those are good selections. If users use their staked pal to vote these kinds of posts, the project will definitely achieve a lot of good things. It is good to know that someone is reading the stem posts I make. I hope other good stem content creators can buy into the pal project which is looking like a good one in all ramifications
These post really stand out. And i guess why really many people complain is that when they see other people post getting huge upvote beyond what they can imagine, they begin to wonder then why is my post not getting upvoted. It can be fustrating sometimes as i have been in the shoes some time ago
I agree and since you are one that is getting rewards without staking, I will probably never upvote you.
Manually curating has been a little tough for me as well but it’s getting easier as I find some authors who regularly post some cool stuff. I like your other parameters as well - I should really start diving into people’s wallets before upvoting. Thanks for mentioning my post too, that was cool to see and much appreciated 😊
You're quite welcome. And I need to get better at leaving comments. I usually just vote and head off.
Haha yeah, I can be guilty of that as well
You're doing insanely important work, it's crucial that there's manual curation happening in the early days of the network so the right kind of members get stake and can begin effecting the network as well.
But as you said, it's not easy to really go and dive into the new section, but I guess while doing that, one really has to keep the long term price and goal in mind, otherwise it might not seem worth it.
Perhaps we need a discord channel for active curators on palnet? Where people can group up around certain topics and so on. If only we'd have hundreds of whales manually curating each major topic (gaming, traveling etc.), how well would this place do?!
Thank you for the information!
(Would be great if you take a look of my latest drawing;)
Thanks for putting this out, good to find out what is, and perhaps more importantly, what isn't going to be receiving any of those tasty PAL whale votes.
Haha, well, this one is my guidelines, others may have their own ideas
Thanks for the mention. I like your criteria. PAL needs to avoid the mistakes of Steem. Glad to see the PAL whales taking their stake seriously.

Well... I don't think you follow me so it's unlikely you'll see my blogs.
Don't worry, this isn't a passive aggressive 'follow me' comment 😉
Or is it? 🤣😂
Ha ha, check me out if you fancy seeing someone who has posted average 5 times per week for 20 months, nothing but quality content.
Cheers Pal 🙂
Can you share the PALNet discord server?
Thanks
