thoughts about Steem Communities

Since I had nothing planned today and woke up early this morning, I finally could spend time getting an understanding of what Steem Communities is all about. Last weeks (maybe longer) I've seen the hive-blahblah tags regularly indicating Communities was launched and at play, but no time to get my head around this, until now.

Interestingly, I've been granted the title of MOD (moderator) to one of the communities out there. It's the MUSIC one launched by @uwelang. Something I had to test this morning. My first ever post through communities became a fact (interested? click here). Only after posting this one through the MUSIC community, I discovered the possibility to post either in BLOG or POST channel. Still don't really understand the difference. I think POST channel adds the community tag as the first one, while the BLOG channel does not. Wondering why the two channels, since a post in the community channel seems to be visible in another community as well.

When adopting multiple channels for our posts, will this not create a more distributed way of content resulting in lower visibility of interesting articles?

When investigating further, I was surprised by the number of communities already created; Many of them with just a few subscribers; Some of them with a lot more. Am really looking forward how this will evolve. I know, I have decisions to make. On one hand I like the simplicity of a single channel like Steemit gave us about three years ago. As well as I like the simplicity to browse content on our Steem blockchain through channels created by tags. Since I'm a general blogger, with interests in many different topics, its gonna be more difficult for me to decide where I like to publish my articles and blog posts.

What's your view on this? How do you decide how the go around communities?

I've also noticed some of the large curator groups distributing a larger percentage of the total Steem minted every single day, are calling for Steemians to start publishing their posts through their own associated community. Although this call-for is common sense and logical in terms of growing a community, I hope this will not drive most to all Steemians to concentrate on these communities alone. I do hope the smaller communities will get a chance as well. Time will tell!

BTW, am not so much someone who thinks in terms of HOPE, but I seem to use it a lot here :) And let me use it another time: I do HOPE Communities will turn out to be the best thing that could've happen to Steem.

NJOY COMMUNITIES

go for maximum njoy-ment
