Colorchallenge Monday Red: Deep Red Nasturtium with Creative Variations

Here is today's entry for the popular #colorchallenge photo challenge, originally started by @kalemandra, and now one of the most popular group participation events on Steemit. It's also a great way for newcomers to "post something" and get started here, if you feel uncertain about how to do things.

Today's theme is "Monday Red;" red is also the color associated with the Root Chakra.

Spotted this deep red Nasturtium flower during a visit to Big Sur, California. It was actually growing completely below the foliage, but the sun coming in from the side gave it — and the surrounding leaves — a feeling of being illuminated from within.

In the spirit of creativity, I have also added a couple of artistic "variations;" playing around with a few filters on my photo processing software.

This first variation (above) simply softens it into a somewhat impressionistic "painting." This next one also plays around deviations and textures — truth in advertising: my husband created the second one.

Have a beautiful day!
