A classic film back on the big screen again!

My amazing wife took me on a surprise trip to the cinema to see one of my favourite films on the big screen!

That’s right, they played Back To The Future (the first of the trilogy) at my local Odeon cinema complex!
It was shown to celebrate 35 years since its release - plus, I think it’s to get bums on seats since there are no new films on the horizon.

Back To The Future was originally released in 1985, coincidentally the year I was born.

The cinema experience was outstanding and I can see why it was such a big success at the time. It’s memes I’ve and bold in its story and visuals.
Hollywood at its best with an amazing score.
It’s really thrilling, daft, cheesy, moving and life affirming all at once.

The wicked soundtrack and audio effects are astonishing too. There’s so much more high-end on the audio compared to modern films that rumble with the bass. This high end had a visceral cutting effect that made real impact, almost like a distorted kick, that emphasised particular moments really well; for example the lighting/clock tower scene was almost deafening! And so it should be.

The music chosen for the film is as iconic as the film itself.
The Jonny B Goode scene was just wonderful!

I would love to see more nostalgic films on the big screen. I have my fingers crossed for Ghostbusters.
That film made the most impact on me as a kid.

Cheers for reading and let me know about your cinema experiences; both classic original moments or recent anniversary screenings 😁

👊🏻 100%
They don’t make them like this anymore.
They were very much products of the time.
I guess 35 years is a long time in that industry!
