(Edited)

It's hard not to like screenwriter and producer Cary Fukunaga after the first two seasons of True Detective and the absolutely crazy Maniac series, and of course it's nice to know that he's not burning with the desire to rest after shooting a new James Bond movie and this spring he took a new project of Legendary studio - the adaptation of cyberpunk comic book Tokyo Ghost by Rick Remender.

The screenplay and adaptation will be handled by the author of the original, while Fukunaga will take over as director and producer.

The comic book action is set in the near future, more precisely - in 2089. Mankind is immersed in technology as a means of escapism, everywhere distributed synthetic drugs, and they, in fact, and the main character in the comic book Led Dent hooked. His girlfriend Debbie tries to help him and the couple escapes from Los Angeles to Tokyo, where they join a strange sect whose members reject technology and live in harmony with nature. Of course, you can't just run away and the pair of lovers will have to battle with the ghosts of the past.

Interesting and ambiguous characters are Fukunaga's strongest point, so I will wait for news about this project and wait for the official announcement of the cast.
