The 4Gs - Part 2: God is glorious, so we don’t have to fear others

A few days ago I started a new series looking at the four truths termed the 4Gs. You can read Part 1 here.
To summarize, the 4Gs are 4 truths about God that begin with the letter 'G'. Tim Chester asserts that at the core of all our sinful behavior and negative emotions is a failure to believe and embrace these 4 truths at a functional level. These 4 truths or 4Gs are:

  1. God is great – so we don’t have to be in control
  2. God is glorious – so we don’t have to fear others
  3. God is good – so we don’t have to look elsewhere
  4. God is gracious – so we don’t have to prove ourselves

God is glorious – so we don’t have to fear others

Today we're going to look at the second 'G'. What do we mean when we say that God is glorious, and so we don't need to fear others? In Romans 8:31, the Apostle Paul boldly declares:

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

If we are honest with ourselves, many of our fears, doubts and negative emotions come from our fear of others or concern with what others think of us. We are hesitant to fully embrace the life God has for us and boldly tell others about the liberating truth of the Gospel because of our fear of what others may think of us or what others may do to us. And sometimes we are so concerned with our image in the eyes of others, that we don't fully embrace how God sees us.

You and I are loved by the God of the universe, who sent His one and only son to redeem us back to Himself. If God is for us, who can be against us? Therefore boldly declare this day that God is glorious, so I don't have to fear others.

Are there anything in your life limiting you from embracing the fullness of the life God has for you due to your fear of what others may think of you, or what others may say about you or do to you? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Until next time.

Blessings in Christ
Jimmy

This is a statement that I always made when I was working in the last company where I worked. There were very bad people there who were rejected us by the gospel, so as my best friend and I preached and talked of God and sang to God, they did not like that and always tried to do something to us, so I before entering my office always prayed and asked God to protect me and declared this word: If God is for us, who can be against us?

Thanks for the steem you sent me. :)

Yes, people who don’t know Jesus may often reject us when we worship Him and share our faith, but it’s always encouraging to know that God is for us, and that we are blessed when people insult us, persecute us and say all kinds of evil against us, for that is how they treated Jesus and the prophets. Thanks for sharing.

God is indeed a glorious God; His glory and splendour supersedes human's imagination and thoughts.

If then we have this glorious God, why then do we live in fear? God has not given us the spirit of fear but of love and of power and of a sound mind.

God is with us hence nothing can stop us!
