Coronavirus: Fear of second wave in Beijing after market outbreak

"Xinfadi market in the city's south-western Fengtai district was shut down [...] after two men who had recently visited the market were reported to have Covid-19.
Tests at the market then showed 45 people had the virus"

--- They tracked this outbreak to a cutting board for imported (Of course! Those ugly foreigners again!) fish. How it got onto the board is unclear.

"the huge Xinfandi wholesale market - which supplies 80% of Beijing's vegetables and meat"

--- Sounds dubious. But, if so, shutting it down makes things rather complicated. & it obviously could have spread the Wuhan virus all over Beijing.

Beijing reimposes lockdown measures after new Covid-19 outbreak

"Beijing had previously gone 55 days in which the only new infections were citizens returning from other countries"

--- Only because they don't count asymptomatic cases as infected.

"The new infections sparked a panic about salmon, which was pulled from supermarkets around the country after cutting boards used to prepare imported salmon were among surfaces that tested positive for the virus."

--- Ah, human logic. Most probably someone coughed on a cutting board or in the area where the fish got cut.
Even if salmon could become infected (rather improbable), if you properly prepare it, there is absolutely no danger.

Uyghur Women Persecuted: Will the Feminists Support Them?

"Uyghur women are raped, compelled to marry Han Chinese, detained in the dreaded transformation through education camps, and killed. Why do Western feminists ignore their tragedy?"

--- Perhaps because they have some romantic affiliation to communism?

"Where are the Muslim sisters and brothers? Where are the Hollywood icons who proclaim themselves to be advocates for human rights? Where are the feminists?"

--- Probably at some BLM demo.

China Just Crossed Another Dangerous New Line For Huawei—But Is It Already Too Late?

"U.K. peers in the House of Lords—with the support of hawkish parliamentarians—upped the stakes still further, tabling a proposed amendment to an in-process bill to ban Huawei over the alleged involvement of the company’s Chinese suppliers in Xinjiang."

--- Poor little Huawei, just because they support the PRC regime, & the regime supports Huawei, it gets pounded upon. So innocent.

Australian sentenced to death in China for drug smuggling

"Karm Gilespie is thought to have been arrested seven years ago while trying to board an international flight from Baiyun Airport in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou."

--- Strange. Why would you do that? Chinese meth producers are all too happy to send the stuff to you. & they have their ways to get it out of the country.

China's Government Fuels Stablecoin Economy: Hong Kong Protesters, Singapore and Mainland Residents Flee Capital Controls

"in Hong Kong, QCP Capital reported that investors trade Tether physically. This method is mainstream so that they are able to move money away cheaply and quickly compared to setting up an offshore account"

--- Going old school.

Hong Kong students form human chains in solidarity with music teacher who lost job amid protest song row

"pop song Love the Basic Law, on the other hand, was for “rule of law education” and therefore would not be seen as a political act"

--- Commie logic taking hold in HK. If you support us, you can do whatever you want. If you oppose us, everything you do is illegal.

Deutsche Nachrichten:

--- Was denn?

[...] Umgerechnet seien dies 123 Milliarden Euro."

--- Also durchaus nicht dramatisch viel.
