Oven fried! What in the name...

The first time I heard of the concept of “oven fried” I thought that must be a joke. How are you going to get a nice crispy French fried Chicken without deep frying it. You know that nice golden brown chicken your mother cooks for Sunday Dinner. Well guess what? The same results can be achieved via the oven.

To prepare my wings I marinated them in some good ole #walkerswood jerk seasoning (overnight). To bake, heat the oven 375°F. Coat wings in baking powder or seasoned flour (unbleached flour with paprika, baking powder and chicken season) placed coated wings on parchment paper . Bake for 40 minutes, lower temperature to 350°F and bake for another 30 minutes.

I preferred to have my wings without sauce. But you could of course add some barbecue sauce. So the next time you think about having some hot wings, why not do an oven fried. You won’t believe your taste buds!

Poorly. It was asked to fry them. On the bright side, we used Canola Oil and they were delicious!

OH no! They've turned out really good each time I make them. I am glad you were able to salvage them

Thanks for this reminder about using the oven rather than a deep fryer. I always worry about having that much hot oil around and then there's the disposing of it ...
I guess the fat in the chicken itself adds to the crispness?

You are most welcomed. Yes you are right. The fat made it crispy.
