Mixed up my first batch of compost tea

I have been wanting to do this for a while. The set up is pretty cheap, but the ingredients were pricey! I decided to make my own mix rather than going off a recipe. I looked at a number of recipes and have studied all of the ingredients and what their purposes are. I think I've come up with a nice mix using some stuff I had, and buying a couple things I didn't.

The first thing I put in was 1.5 cups of premium organic worm castings. I had to buy these because I used all the ones I had in my super soil mix. These ones had the best review on amazon, probably not the best worm castings in the world, but hopefully they are solid!

I put a cup of organic kelp meal into the mix. I had to buy this stuff, but based on the research I did this is one of the most nutrient dense fertilizers out there. It's very commonly used in compost teas as well as organic soils.

I put in half a cup of epsom salt. I had this lying around and it's a great source of magnesium so I decided to throw in a half cup.

I put 1 tablespoon of humic acid. This stuff is stupid strong and smells really bad. A tablespoon will go a long way. When you look at the ingredient list for this stuff, it's basically just shit and death.

I added all of the ingredients into a nylon stocking so that the water would be able to seep in and allow the nutrients to exit without letting all this compost and fertilizers into the tea.

Tea Bagged

In she goes!

A few hours later the waters starting to brown up and bubble more!

P.S. I had bought Molasses to use but didn't end up using it because the safety seal was broken

It creates an organic liquid fertilizer for plants. Plant super food

We just load up an old sock with rabbit poo and toss it into a bucket of water for a day or 2. While it "brews" we drop in an air hose with a bubbler on the end of it, and use an aquarium air pump to aerate the liquid. Plant super-juice!
