A new camera arrival
Look what came today š...
That right, itās official, I got suckered in to a Black Friday pre-sale thing. I feel unclean.
BUT, I got a ****Panasonic GH5 mirrorless camera**** that Iāve been wanting for ages.
So, it seemed good timing to get Ā£500 off its usual price (as new) (plus a few extras, like a free lens and battery - yes please)
This camera is a mini beast for video and is capable of so much.
Itās ideal for my Ronin-S gimbal, instead of my stripped back C100mkii. Which I need to use for my general work with all the audio attachments on.
My new camera (donāt ask how many I have) shoots insane bitrates, with 10bit 4:2:2 colour, 180fps true slow motion, V-Log, internal 5-axis stabilisation, dual SD card recording, intuitive touch screen functionality (and itās direction adjustable too), auto-focus, plus it shoots UHD 4K (consumer 4K) as well as good olā HD.
Iām not that bothered about the 4K but itās nice to have.
Lots for me to to play with there.
Oh and it takes photos too.
Itās not a new model by any means, itās been around years, but this seems like a good time for me to buy and if it doesnāt do exactly what I need to to do on my jobs then I shall probably sell it on/trade it in.
I plan to make some epic STEEM promo videos on this :)
I other news: I got a camera, the kids got the box. They seem happy with that deal š

Yeah some new Lumix models are coming through, so the sales are on with older models.
Lumix has great features - you itās have an eye for it. I used to shoot Panasonic years ago before Canon, so itās good to be back with the Pan gear!
Always been robust, reliable and well made gear. Canāt wait to dive in on this camera.

Possibly overkill for vlogging purposes. But, it depends what youāre looking for in a vlogging camera I guess!
Glad to see that "[AF] Upgraded" sticker bro :) . The old system was known for terrible auto-focus which was the one drawback to the perfect video camera. I've been looking around for something myself. Soooo close to pulling the trigger. I'm waiting for my current camera to sell first though :)
Indeed, I was pleased to see that sticker too! I touched it to see if it was a sticker, or a print on the actual box. It was the former, so that was a good sign that itās atleast a new addition to an a relatively old model.

Iām selling my old DSLR on eBay too. Wonāt get much for it but better than nothing eh.
Well, the community was moaning about the AF because the camera is so good. That was basically the one thing not great about it. It's all relative though. Most non-pros wouldn't notice. You know how it is with the video people haha.

I have been finding Black Friday underwhelming so far this year, good on you to get such a 'dirty item'.
I'm after a record deck for @dismayedworld, its a decent one but cant find anything under Ā£200.
