True Worship.

John 4: 23-24

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Worship involves emptying ourselves and recognizing our own imperfections before the perfection and holiness of God.

When we bow to God and pour out our being, our life, to him, in intimacy, we can feel his holiness and beauty, he purifies us and we can feel his glory and his power through worship.

Psalms 96: 6

Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

We can feel this when there is genuine, true worship, in spirit and in truth. When God appeared to Abraham, and spoke to him; Abraham responded by prostrating himself with his face on the ground in adoration, in total reverence and submission; after which the Lord continued to speak to him.

Genesis 17:1-4.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. 2 Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” 3 Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, 4 “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.

That reverence pleases God, is there when He manifests himself and and he shows his glory, giving promises, performing miracles, transmitting his peace, showing his love. God visits us and reveals himself.

Revelation 5:14.

The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

The believer cannot do the will of God on earth as it is in heaven if he does not worship God in complete submission and subjection. The scope of our worship makes clear the direction we are going, the more the level of our worship increases, the more our likeness to Christ increases.
