Hi everyone! Happy Butterfly Day and Insect Day Giveaway- Week 23! Gather around the insect pub to see butterflies and other insects, and to make new friends. Post your butterfly and other insect photos, or art work for a chance to win Steem Basic Income Shares. A minimum of 2-SBI will be given away; 1-SBI for photos and 1-SBI for art work. If no art work is submitted, then 2-SBI will be given away for photos. Depending on how many entries there are, I might be able to give away more. Entries will not be judged and winners will be chosen at random. You have 6 days for entries in this post and then a new one will begin. Thanks to all for your amazing entries! The winners for Week 22 are: @deerjay and @nelinoeva. Congratulations!

Here are the rules for the Giveaway.

1-One submission per person per week.
2-All photos and art work must be your own work. Photos and artwork from the internet will not be accepted.
3-Make your own butterfly or insect post and use one of these tags: #butterflyday or #insectpub.
4-Important! To be entered in the giveaway, you must put the link to your post in the comments below.
5-Upvotes to this post are not necessary but would be greatly appreciated, and might allow me to give away more prizes.

I am looking forward to seeing your butterflies and other insects!

Here are my photos for today of the Red-spotted Purple Butterfly.

This beautiful Red-spotted Purple is rather large with a wing span of approximately 3-3.5 inches. The only way you can tell males from females is by their size because they both look alike. Females are larger than the males.

You know how happy I am when I can capture my subject's face. Yay! It looks like it is smiling at me.

Look at the pretty colors and patterns on the underside of their wings.

Nobody knows why this butterfly fly is called red-spotted because as you can see, the spots are orange.

You can find these butterflies feeding on fruit, dung and tree sap as these are their preferences. But you can also find them sipping nectar from flowers occasionally.

Thanks for stopping by!

All photos are my own.

It does look like it is smiling at you! Beautiful photos @whatisnew! I'm going have to compare this to a photo I got of a butterfly that looks similar. Thank you so much for the SBI! Congratulations to @nelinoeva!

Good with the operation.. Almost 100% but now I have lime disease symtems... Went to urgent care they took blood to test for tick diseases. But say they won't get results back in 7 to 10 days.

Good news about your operation but terrible news about your lyme disease symptoms. I have it but have been in remission for years, thank goodness. Everybody has different symptoms but no matter the severity, it is awful and I pray that you don't have it. I do remember reading many of your posts saying how many ticks you pulled of of yourself. Keep me posted Mike.
