Buying More Work

Well it was a nice day in Michigan and I have a busy weekend planned, so I needed to get my car over to get an oil change.

I thought this was a cute sign...

Unlike many of the newer drive in oil change shops, this one lets you park your car and wait in a lobby while they work on it.

Not every day you see a tailgate used as a backrest lol.

I always understood that art is in the eye of the beholder. They had various "interesting" decorations.

They do the change for $19.99, so you cant ask for much. They have a Keurig and bottled water, so its not all bad.

Even with a bit of humor thrown in as seen on the restroom door.

You know every week I try to take part in Market Friday. It is a fun, yet not so easy challenge to keep somewhat fresh every week. Of course the lovely @dswigle raises the bar with her posts from week to week, yet I am just content to limp along doing the best I can. Le sigh

I find I shop at home more and more, even for hardware type stuff. I makes sense to me because we are a bit of a drive from any big box stores.

Lately I have just been buying more work for myself. Talk about a double negative. Spending money and buying work, like shooting yourself in the foot - twice!

20190829_122016.jpg

Sometimes I just waste a bit of money on some foolish whim, like a silly old tyme vintage ice cube tray.

20190829_122138.jpg

But talk about wasting money, when you live with Ben, he wastes it faster than anybody I know...

You can never turn your back at him in the market. I was sending a text and not paying attention and look what I saw at home! 7 bucks seems like robbery, no?

Oh and this one takes the cake...

20190829_152431.jpg

He saw it on Shark Tank or some nonsense...

By TipsyElves, well you got to be tipsy to wear it, am I right LOL???

Thanks for stopping by!

All words and images are mine and can be also found on my various social media sites. Now I must add that some of the shots I steal from my son Ben @silver314 , but I feed him so he can sue me lol.

I love the style of that garage myself, I do some online ordering, but for the most part with stores early i still like going in finding what I want getting it and getting out, of course that only works if its just me going out, if the wife is with me it seems she needs to check every aisle and every store even after e have got what we went there for lOL

I don't think I've ever been to an oil change place that doesn't have a Lobby that you wait in. Where do they have you wait? And please don't say in the garage. I think that was pretty ingenious using the tailgate for a bench back. And yes I love looking at places that have their own style of art deco. I'm not sure I could use that bathroom.

Oh my God. Tell everybody how hard the challenges because do you think anybody's going to want to do it if they think that it's a lot of work?

Le sigh.

Although I shop from home I from time to time I really prefer touching it and I cannot believe that you just bought another thing for your house because you don't have enough junk to sort through so you want to buy somebody else's so that it'll give you something else to do? Did I get that all right? Will you just need to stay off the phone when you're with Ben because he's going to break you. I think you need to get him a job. $7 for the Stromboli. I hope it was good and that he shared it with you because I'm pretty sure the calories in the carbs on that thing or amazing. And you get Shark Tank? And how does he see or breathe out of that thing? I want you to take lots of pictures of him and show it to his wife the he will have someday or not she keeps wearing stuff like that. Better yet save it for his kids. LOL thank you, as usual, putting out a fun working Friday and I do thank you for all the time and effort you put into making these posts unusually fun.

This week I did not post as I normally do but just put up a tag for everybody to follow. That is not normal for me and I usually always have a post but was called into work unexpectedly on Market Friday evening. So, of course, this teaches me that I should be at least ahead of the game and have it prepared before I have to post it. I want to thank you for being a part of Market Friday and stopping in to say hello!!

Thank YOU!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Oh well most of our quick change places have you just stay in the car. You drive over a pit, there is no hoist to lift, so need to get you out of the car. The only downside is they are usually trying to sell you additional stuff while you are trapped in there waiting!

We MF is a great challenge. And it is honestly a hard one, BUT that is what makes it a great challenge!!

You know I always loved to vote your comments. I am sad to have to let that go. It seems for me to leave 2 cents on a comment, I need to use a 100% vote!

What? Can you get back here and vote my comments right now! Who cares if you have to do 100%? It's Only Money, Right?

Of course, you know I'm kidding. We aren't about the money are we? It's all about the fun and the interaction that we get here on steemit. If it weren't for the fun, I would be gone a long time ago.

I am sure we have quick change places like that here but I usually go to the dealership because they make it so inexpensive to use them plus if you have a newer car thank you to you free for a couple years. You know, in case they get something new and they don't want you to miss!

Love the signs ! What other kind of "change oil" place is there? Where I go, they meet me before I get out of the car, ask me what I want and then I hand them the key ! I go in and sit while they work, then they drive it out, take my money and I'm gone. I usually take something to read or play on my phone. They have magazines, but they are mostly men things. They have a TV, not that it's ever on much interesting. They even vacuum my front floorboards ! So it has an illusion of being clean when I get back in.

I love the old ice trays much better than the more modern plastic ones.

Looks like tipsy elves made that thing, since it zips up over your head. Funny though.
