Week 56: #introduceyourself Curation Post

It seems as if I spoke too soon last week as the price decrease seems to have impacted the amount of activity on the #introduceyourself section this week. It was a struggle to find a choice of posts to highlight today as I felt as it the majority were in different languages. In fact, it made me think of potentially using an online translator to read some of them as a few impressed me with the content they were sharing. I would imagine that Steem could potentially some day do the translation for us as we went through the feeds as the ecosystem is clearly global in nature as users from all over the world join on a daily basis.

As I have continued my curation of these posts, I almost naturally look for places were these new users could feel at home in regards to their content. For example, I have been mentioning the Creative Coin to some new users that are very talented with art as well as some fitness and health professionals towards Actifit as I feel it could help their journey with exploring all that Steem can provide from an attractive experience for them. It has been a while since I have seen or manually done a review of how retention is going but I would think that these communities exhibit better retention than more open ended platforms. In the end, it is all about feeling part of a community that encourages engagement!

The following are this week’s curated #introduceyourself posts from new Steemians! Please consider providing them a visit to help them onboard and provide them with motivation towards the future:

@jlgnv is a new account from Jean Luc and Genesis whom have been a couple for 10 years and live in Venezuela. They introduced themselves and their pets as part of their start here on the platform. They are animal lovers an in addition to three dogs they have had a turtle with them for 6 years. They promise to share the other pets in future posts and hope to learn from the community with their engagement!

Luis Guillermo or @luis-sistem is a talented young artist from Venezuela that recently introduced himself and share some amazing artistic work which he works with daily. It was amazing to see how he has also combined art with the digital side in his work to emphasize architectural perspectives of space. He also shared some of his urban muralist work which was interesting. Having a social presence on other platforms is also a great feature to see more users sharing these days.

Tyler or @jesterknight recently introduced himself and quickly got his work in Information Technology out of the way to focus on some of his passions. He has had an interest in cryptocurrency markets for two years now but has also continued to really explore his passion for art and developing himself more. He shared a number of pieces which I am sure will be enjoyed by the pockets of community we have here on the creative side. He wants to use Steem as his blogging site to share his experiences and learnings while engaging with the community.

@terrancejones was an introduction post that caught my attention as it is really a returning Steemian who like many others left long ago and have found their way back. I normally do not include them in my curation efforts but given the story and the potential of past and future engagement, I thought it would be good to have a story like this out there as he even had $100 posts back in the day! A gamer that has potential to try out some of the new features of #NewSteem!

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform. I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.
