Week 49: #introduceyourself Curation Post

Despite the continued depressing prices of not only Steem but the rest of the cryptocurrency market this week, I felt some encouragement and positivity given the outlook on development here in the ecosystem. Not only has the community continued to develop and deploy great projects like Tribes, now we are seeing Steemit, our largest stakeholder, become quite active in communicating its roadmap's progress to the community. While trust in executing them has always been a factor, it continually feels as though it is headed in the right direction. The thought of Smart Media Tokens (SMTs) and Resource Credit (RC) pools and delegation broadens even more the potential of the Steem blockchain.

We also now have 14 out of the top 20 witnesses running (and some testing) the code for Hard Fork 21 which means that the change will be a reality in under two weeks now. This has gotten more engagement as of late as community members are already adjusting behavior in order to prepare for. While it feels that uncertainty prevails in all the conversations, it also seems that many are ready to adapt and adjust once it is deployed. I have continued to curate the #introduceyourself tag as I can only imagine the spin these new users are headed for in the coming weeks. Let's continue to support and foster these new Steemians as we evolve!

Celia or @downthehabithole is an adventurer who is sailing the world and considers herself a Location Independent Professional! She had a great introduction that got the attention of many in the community as she talked a little about she has conquered bad habits and hope to share that journey with the community.

@luisgerarvitnis a young Venezuelen that just joined Steem and introduced himself as a passionate reader of many disciplines as knowledge is power. He has enjoyed nature since he was young which lead him to study Biology which has been a calling towards sharing his knowledge with communities both off and online.

@crypticgamer is yet another new Steemian that has joined because of Steem Monsters as his history of gaming aligned him well to participate in the community. He is an avid gamer that has been able to use his experience and knowledge to earn a living not only with his web development business but also his gaming activities which include crypto related games. Thus, he has jumped on the Steem Monsters bandwagon like many of us have!

@kacaca36 is dog lover that recently introduced himself and gave us the background that he is a web designer and SEO consultant. It is quite an interesting background considering the opportunity we have here to leverage that knowledge as a community. He was also out in front asking for places to learn more about the ecosystem that are more up to date which I was happy to provide.

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform. I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.
