Fridays Rocks: beautiful rocks at a very friendly shop in China Town,

(Edited)

This is my entry for #fridaysrock hosted by @shasta. During my last visit to China Town, I discovered a very friendly rocks shop just before the closing time. So I asked the owner whether I could look around and take photos. The owner told me to take as many photos as I wished. He was quite young and softly spoken; his shop had been nicely organised with no dust like other shops.

This big wooden log was very impressive as it was nicely carved as a cave with white jade carved into lotus flowers and a lady figure. This reminded me of Chinese lifestyle in the old days when some old sages lived in high mountains collecting herbs and food sources in the forest. The white jade is simply beautiful.

This shop seemed to have the best collection of jade pieces and big balls of rose quartz, lapis and clear quartz. I was very surprised by the increase in prices of crystal balls these days, it has become impossible for me to afford a big ball of lapis. The increase has been over 30%. I should have bought all those crystal balls several years ago! But I hope that when Bitcoin starts going to the moon, I should have the opportunity to get one big ball of lapis lazuli at last.

Some years ago, there was a rage about stones power in Thailand. Hundreds of stone jewelry vendors sprang up everywhere: in front of temples, street stalls, in flea markets and social media. It would be quite normal to see young people wearing up to half a dozen stone bracelets. Thai people are forever very superstitious and gullible. If a guru, medium, astrologer or Feng Shui master told them that such stones would bring them luck , success, money including rich boy-friends, they would certainty acquire these stone bracelets or pendants.

The prices of sought after stones went up more than 50% which made a gold bar seemed much cheaper! I could hardly believe the crazy fad during those two years. Several new vendors came into the market just before the rock madness started to wind down. They had to sell their stones at a loss and several businesses just folded under market pressure.

After several years of very slow market, a new wave of interest in stones and crystals have started to flourish again. I notice people are seeking out rare and expensive stones which are supposed to be very strong and effective for specific claims. It always puzzled me whenever I asked people why they carried those stones or crystals on their bodies. The answers they gave me would not be compatible with those properties I read in various crystal books. It seemed that local gurus, mediums, healers and psychics have dreamt up some amazing and fantastic properties of these stones without any regards to all those English books I have read.

Gosh! That is a fabulous shop fit for a millionaire pocket!

I wish I could sell some of my rocks so that I have cash to buy cryptos!!
I should have collected cryptos as a hobby instead of rocks, I would have become a millionaire already!

Haha, yes, that's so true. But we do like to collect some useless things, aren't we 😬? Anyway, I think they are beautiful, but you need a house or at least a place to collect them. If I imagine taking them with me all the time, I will pay at least a few hundred dollars every time I take a plane 🤣

Haha! I have a bad habit of collecting pebbles and rocks! So, when I ran out of money for my food, I would have rock soup and stew rocks instead!

Actually I have a backache because I carried some twenty kilos of rocks on the train to my house in the north-east of Thailand! Could never carry these rocks on the airplane!!

So, I have practically stopped collecting big rocks! Only occasional pebbles will do.

Cheers.

Oh wow, but at least you have a house where you can store them.

Did you carry rocks on the train :O ? I guess I have to come to Thailand.

My English teacher told me once that this was possible 20 years ago, you could carry anything you like on the airplane. 😂

Don’t go into this shop and leave your money at home!! You’ll become poorer after going into this shop because you will want to buy everything!

I bought three pieces in ten minutes!!
I need some extra job now! 😢😂😌

I was in a little touristy shop last week and was drawn to this bin of colorful shiny rocks. I really enjoyed picking them up and burring my hand in the ttom of the bin. Do you think these rocks have energy and that's why I was drawn to them over anything else in the store. I was thinking it was because they were so colorful.

Wow! This is a bucket full of joy and energy! If it’s really a big bucket, I would jump into it and sit in for a while!
It’s just like being in a bath tub full of liquid vitamins! I would become much revived and refreshed after the rock vitamins bath!

No wonder you are drawn to this bucket of goodies!

I wish I could teach or initiated you into actually ‘feel’ stone energy! I taught one of my old friends who used to doubt about stone energy to feel this energy! Now, this rich friend had bought several huge carved stones and jade pieces to put in her house so that everyone would benefit from stone energy! It seems my friend’s progress has been super fast!

Intuitively you feel this energy!

Cheers.

I'm sorry I didn't buy a bag full of energy now.
I will give more focus and try and understand how I feel differently while around stones.
I could use more energy!
Thank you for the new interest I have with rocks/stones.

The trick is to be relax and quiet while holding these colourful pebbles. Perhaps holding one in your palm and breath slowly, just look into the universe or close your eyes. Then something tingling will travel up your arm!

I could even get rock energy by just looking at it sometimes, depending how giving that rock is!

Good luck!

What amazing photos. It must be fascinating to walk around these places. The collections are very impressive. I have just one or two special pieces - a large amethyst crystal , my birthstone is my favourite. I would enjoy looking through these shops even if not buying!

Hi! Thank you very much! Oh! Lucky you! You have a big chunk of amethyst! Very string stuff! Good for your third eye and brain. It’s so calming playing around with amethyst. This is one of my favourite stones too.
Do make a post about your stones.
