Bozzlife: Random Friday Phone Photography

I almost wasn't going to do a post today. Then I got thinking last week was Black Friday in the US and I didn't do a post then either, so I should probably put something together.

Some of you may be saying, it is better to not post at all than to put together a @#$@% post. I guess I will leave it up to you to decide if this post fits that bill or not...

There are a couple of holiday traditions that @mrsbozz and I have picked up in the eleven years we have been married. One of them is making spritz cookies with a cookie press and the other is making a big batch of cereal mix.

I feel like I might have shared this picture already, but oh well I am going to share it again. We made a batch of cereal mix a couple of weeks ago and I am ashamed to say that it is already more than half gone. Some people add everything but the kitchen sink to their cereal mix, but we like to keep it simple.

Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cashews, Sesame Sticks, and BBQ Frito Twists are all we add to the butter, Worcestershire sauce and seasoning salt. After mixing it up every 15 minutes for an hour, it is good to go.

When the weather was just a hair warmer, I ran into this little guy in the back of @mrsbozz's car. Unfortunately, his legs were firmly stuck to the fabric and I wasn't able to get him out before he scurried away into an inaccessible area.

I don't know if it ever made it out or it succumbed to the cold as the weather started to turn...

I am going to call this next set of photos "scenes from my truck".

A short time ago I got a call from a new client to do some work on the side for them. They own a company that sells fresh and smoked fish, so it only made sense that their house was on The Saginaw Bay.

Though this looks like a road, it is actually their driveway and if you look really closely in the distance you can see the water through the trees. Needless to say, the view from their dining room was breathtaking.

I had to run to town the other day to pick up a prescription from the drug store . As much as I hate to admit it, we are basically in Winter now. Based on the reports I have heard, it is going to be a pretty brutal Winter. If that is the case, you can bet this won't be the last snow picture I will be posting this season!

Finally, these photos I am going to call "scenes from my back yard".

Given the way our house is situated, we get some pretty fantastic views of the sunset in the West. On top of that, due west of us are the main chemical plants for Dow and Dow Corning (It's actually one company now, I can't really follow it all). This means that whatever they are pumping into the sky gives us some interesting effects with the sunset.

The downside is, since the jet stream pretty much flows West to East, if they ever
have a major chemical leak, @mrsbozz and I will probably be in pretty bad shape!

A week ago, @mrsbozz and I decided to do some work in the backyard. The morning started out pretty nice, but before long we found ourselves dealing with this.

There is an old saying "big flakes; little snow, little flakes; big snow". I am not sure where it came from, but it basically means if the size of the flakes are big, you won't get much accumulation. In contrast, if the flakes of snow are small, you are probably going to get some significant accumulations.

As you can see in the photo, these flakes were fairly large, so we weren't too concerned about rushing to get our work done before everything was covered.

I'm going to leave it at that. I hope you enjoyed my photos and commentary and I hope you all have a great weekend!

You get proper winters whilst we may get a couple of inches of snow and not every year. I expect you know how to cope with it. It's interesting to see how others live around the world. Thanks for the insight into your life.

It has been several years since we had a good Winter storm. Not that I am complaining. Last year was bad, but it was mostly just the cold weather, not the precipitation.

Just as well you did a post as this one is great.
That cereal mix looks good and snow always fascinate me, as we hardly ever get snow here in town. Only on the high mountain tops.
Summer here now and hope that you guys keep warm.
Blessings!

I hope for your sake that there's no issue with the company close to your house. Back when I was in Port Harcourt, a refinery was seriously flaring gas and messed up the air in the entire region with black soot. Everything from clothes to your palm would get drenched in this black substance and make your body feel icky.

I've been living near this place all my life so I am hoping I should be okay.
