Progress Update - and more content coming! Consider supporting @quintaesencia and AMA!
Things are moving along down here in South America! I wanted to make a quick post before we head off to the farm - we have been very busy! Yesterday we had meetings all over town, and we thank God that they were very productive. We are working on launching @quintaesencia, and explaining the technological possibilities to people with varying levels of savviness.
Above, we visited the local department of TIC - where it turns out that an old co-worker of mine is now in charge of our municipal implementation of technology. On the left you can see Gloria Vasquez, who has been a local leader in a movement to prepare our town of Libano for tourism - these are the sorts of local leaders that we want documenting their progress on STEEM!
What we plan to launch with @quintaesencia is in the vein of Transparency in Government; we envision a future where development projects, including infrastructure, are documented in blockchain-published progress reports. We believe that when implemented in the right way, the suite of solutions we are using, including STEEM, will help minimize corruption in developing regions of the world.

I didn't know about the project as such, but it's a wonderful initiative.
We still have time to do important things in our fields, thinking about a healthy integration with nature. In this way we make conscious use of our resources so that they last in time.

Right now locally there is a big todo going on in one of the suburbs, where apparently the municipal water dept was overcharging residents by A LOT. They claimed people were being wasteful or that they had leaks, but since this all has been coming to light and they've been being investigated, suddenly everyone's water usage reports are half or one third or one quarter of what they used to be a year or two ago - without them changing their habits or fixing any leaks. Magic, eh? There's a movement to recall politicians over it. Ahhh, corruption...

That is a very cool idea. It got me thinking... I have the Financial Services Committee Youtube channel subscribed and I began thinking how cool it would be if transcriptions of the meetings were posted onto Steem.
Not something I have time to do, but a cool project for someone to pick up.
