I really don't know anything about Buddhaism but, if Buddha said one should not worry about the future then, that appears to be in line with what Jesus said that we should not worry about tomorrow. So, I don't think that is enough to say Buddha did not know what he was talking about.
So, I think it will be good to compare the two sayings for clarity.
