Pronouncements of prophets sent by God are exact. They happen.

DEUTERONOMY 18:22
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Pronouncements made in the name of the Lord that do not materialize are the sign of a false prophet.

It is like this: The fulfillment or the occurrence of a prophecy is a sign that the prophecy may have come from the Lord. There are even times that pronouncements of false prophets do happen by God's permission. It is God’s test of loyalty of His people, but never can an unfulfilled prophecy be of God.

DEUTERONOMY 13:1-3
1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

So the emphasis is on the non-fulfillment.

We have a host of false prophets in our time proven by their unfulfilled pronouncements that serve as a false hope for their deceived followers! We introduce to you some of them.

1. Jehovah's Witnesses– on end of the world

All dates concerning Armageddon given by the WTBTS failed, thus proving that the leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses are all false prophets!

“End of the World” Prophecies 1914 was one of the more important estimates of the start of the war of Armageddon by the Jehovah's Witnesses (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society). They computed 1914 from prophecy in the book of Daniel, Chapter 4. The writings referred to "seven times". The WTS interpreted each "time" as equal to 360 days, giving a total of 2520 days. This was further interpreted as representing 2520 years, measured from the starting date of 607 BCE. This gave 1914 as the target date. 1914, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975 and 1994 were other dates that the Watchtower Society predicted. 1975 looked likely as it was computed as the 6000th anniversary of the creation of Adam in the Garden of Eden in 4026 BCE. They interpreted Psalms 90:10 as defining the length of a generation to be 80 years. Since 1914 plus 80 equals 1994, they predicted Armageddon would occur around that year. 2. Sabbath Day Adventists (SDA) – on Jesus coming

When the Lord Jesus Christ did not return on the date they expected him, Ellen G. White, the prophetess of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, even passed her “mistake” to God!

3. Mormons – For a New Jerusalem in Missouri

Allegedly it is a revelation from the Lord that the New Jerusalem will be established in the Western boundary of the state of Missouri now called Independence, and a temple will rise for the glory of the God of Mormons that never happened!

4. Apollo Carreon Quibuloy – Predicting who will be president of the Philippines for 2010

A Filipino false prophet overflowing with conceit and belief in himself claimed that he is "the appointed Son of God.” The founder and leader of the Philippines-based church, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, Inc. said that a particular candidate would be the president of the Philippines. It never happened because this person was defeated in the 2010 Philippine national elections!!!

He also said that the author of this blog is doomed and will die after six months from the time of the revelation (February 6, 2005) that he allegedly received from the Lord. But thanks be to God after 10 years, yours truly is still alive. To God be the glory!

5. Harold Camping – on end of the world

Camping prophesied three times that the world will end in 1994, and twice in 2011, but all failed, thus proving that he is a false prophet.

6. Luis Miranda – on end of the world and other false claims

This false Christ said that the end will be on June 30, 2012 but failed! This is not just a false prophet. He claimed to be "Christ incarnate."

7. Pat Robertson – on end of the world

Robertson said judgment will come to the world by the end of 1982; it is now August 19, 2015.

8. Eraño Manalo and the Pasugo (The Message)

Eraño Manalo said that the children of his church will remain steadfast in faith until the end. Six years after his death, his sons and daughters with his beloved wife were excommunicated and thrown out of his church by his very own son, Eduardo Manalo!

During the time of Felix Manalo, father of Eraño, and grandfather of Eduardo, the Pasugo predicted that after the preaching of Manalo, supposedly the "last messenger of God in the last days,” the judgment or the end of the world would come. Such pronouncement to a thinking person, like the author of this blog, is strikingly interesting, prompting him to do investigations about the teachings of this sect in the Philippines. The result is inevitably proving that writers of the Pasugo and the ones dictating them are all false prophets!

And I will give them one heart in one way, so that they will fear me forever, for their own good…

What will God do?

And I will make a covenant with them forever that I will not leave them but will do them good: And I will place in them fear of me so that they won’t leave me

What will God do to his children from now on?

God said, I will give them one heart, one way so that they will fear me forever; for their own good and for their children’s too.

And I will make a covenant with them, a covenant without an end. I will not leave them. I will do them good: I will place fear in their hearts that they might fear me so that they won’t leave me. That is how God loves this church and each of you.

But in social media sites, you can read them arguing. Some are leaving because of the recent controversy this church group has been embroiled in. Some have been expelled for spilling the beans in media. Those remaining are confused. Their leaders are accused of lavish lifestyles. The church is left with gargantuan debts. Their mammoth buildings like the Philippine Arena suck in much money just for maintenance alone but the members, most of them belonging to the Philippine poor, do not agree with the purpose it is being used for. Meanwhile, there have been accusations of politicians and the INC using each other and exchanging favor through the INC’s questionable practice of bloc voting.

They won’t be scattered anymore? Their expelled ministers and critics are calling for a movement (“kilusan”) against them despite threats on their life coming from within. They are scattered. Manalo failed the prophet test.

Eduardo Manalo, son of Eraño Manalo and the third generation Executive Minister, had expelled from their church group his very own mother and siblings. Before that, he was publicly believed not talking to his mother for six years, not even after videos released to the public that her life was in danger.

Felix Manalo died but judgment did not come yet, contrary to Pasugo’s prophecy. Eraño Manalo prophesied that their children won’t be scattered anymore. But they are as scattered as scattered can be. They can’t be together.

How can we tell if a prophet is of God? A prophet sent by God is of God.

JOHN 7:17-18
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

A prophet sent by God and of God doesn’t speak of himself and seek his own glory. But Felix Manalo, the founder of the Iglesia ni Cristo, had many claims. He said no one will apostate, but consider the corruption charges being aired by his members now. He died but there was no judgment that came after his death, giving a false prophecy.

Let us look for the truth not in the material glory of a congregation like glorious buildings. They do not assure that you will learn God’s ways.

Let us look for the truth not in the number of adherents because practices like fraternal protection can attract adherents but will make you more evil.

Let us look for the truth not by the length of a group’s existence, remembering that human history is a witness to the centuries and millennia of the existence of false religions in this planet!

Let us look, guided by the Spirit of God, into the doctrines! Doctrines must follow God’s word – not just made up of a few select Bible verses and then cemented by man’s lore.
